Gingerbread Leaked!

this is what I was wondering.
should I go ahead and make the switch or just wait?

In my opinion I'd just wait, I don't think it will take long to have the Gingerbread kernel running under CyanogenMod, since (if I understand correctly) everything but the kernel is already Gingerbread software.

Maybe this update will fix a lot of the weird behavior some Droid 2 Globals exhibit.

Well I tweeted P3 and I think the confusion about the unlock is about being able to SBF back not the bootloader actually being unlocked to flash custom.
It is unlocked so that you can SBF back (which is not true under stock GB Kernel) but the bootloader itself is not unlocked as say the Atrix is!

running it, there is no way to root it from within gingerbread, i just tried a few methods, none of them worked, so im pretty sure were going to have to wait on P3 to root it, i must say though, this update is really nice, the new blur is fast and great, and it is really solid.

It is not currently rooted.

You will lose your root if you install the update.

TeamBlackHat is apparently working on a rooted version we can install- they said it "should go live soon."

Do we need to SBF back to 2.29 then update to .330 to install this?

Just sbf to 2.4.330 and install. I had a backup so I sbf'd on top of that backup and cleared cache only, then installed. It will start in roaming, just activate your phone and you'll be all set.
10 minutes about left for 2nd video upload. Will be up on Rootzwiki and here.

ok so im gonna try to get this leaked working on my phone, so basically i sbf back to stock froyo, then put the gingerbread leak on the my sd card, boot into recovery, apply the update and im good to go? someone please correct me if im wrong.

If you already have a backup that is on 2.4.330 blur (aka froyo 2.2), restore to that, then sbf. Boot into recovery after sbf, wipe cache, and install. Will take a few minutes, but then you'll be good to go. You don't have to restore all your settings as a result.

Little short but you can see what blur looks like. Now I can't guarantee everything works, it's best to do a clean install, wipe data/cache. Right now, battery manager fc's out.
