Google I/O Announces Google Music Player 3.0 is Available in the Market

Request is in. 20,000 songs is generous. I just don't like how its all in the cloud. When i go home from school im in the sticks so i dont always have service enough to send a text or a call, let alone 3G

You can access selected music all the time without service ...did you read up on it? Lol

Yeah. I guess that requires a little more work. Im used to just having it all on a memory card so i can access it anytime. Guess this frees up space on my memory card tho.

The point of google music is that its a cloud server and you CAN access it whenever... lol silly silly ill take your invite if you don't want it =P

I can't believe you're *****ing about a FREE service they're providing you! If it's TOO much work for you, then don't use it. Checking a box is a lot of work, not sure if I can handle it either...

Wow everyone here is assholes. I'm just saying it is a little different than usual and will take some getting used to. God everyone just wants to get on someones ass today jeez.

I requested an invite - have not yet received access.

Heard that priority is given to Xoom owners - that annoys me. One wonders the purpose of the beta release (this IS beta, yes? Operating from memory here). Is it to entice Xoom purchase, or ... what? Learn about the app?

Because here's what I see: both Google and Apple are being beaten to market by Amazon with their Cloud solution (which I would give a 5/10 rating, but that's another thread). If Google wants to compete, they had better hurry ... Apple can get away with being last to market with technology, because they have a closed system. In an open environment, you need to be first and get traction with customer base.

Unless Google's interface is amazing, they've already alienated/lost me, and it's hardly even a week yet ...

Well said. There are reports that non Xoom owners are getting the invite though. What Google's priority on devices is, I don't know.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that beyond XOOM users that there is no device priority. I got my invite my a few days ago and I've got a D1. I'm thinking it's mostly luck of the draw or based on when you requested an invite. I requested mine seconds after the page went live.

I'm not a Xoom owner, and I was one of the first people to get a public (non I/O attendee) invite. Either it was first come, first serve (like CM, I found the link on my Pulse Reader and signed up for it literally within 10 minutes of it going live and BEFORE it was announced at I/O), or it's completely random and I got lucky. Remember, probably millions of people applied for an invite.

Got my invite today. I am a xoom owner though. Installed the music manager on my desktop and streaming flawlessly to my phone and xoom. Looks promising.
Hope you other folks get your invite soon!
