hello all..first thing..reason im starting a new thread on this topic is because all the other thread has alot of responses and i do beleive this works and its easy way to make 4.3 install on ur droid..here goes and leave feedback. also i have tried the other way it i just cant get it to work. here goes.
in root explorer.../system/app/Maps.apk..rename to Maps.apk.bin
open up terminal emulator...type the following and enter after each line
su
mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 dev/block/mtdblock4 system
cd system/bin
sh pm uninstall com.google.android.apps.maps
should say success
reboot.
Go to market and download maps.
after install go back into root explorer and delete maps.apk.bin
done..hope this helps alot of u.
