Google Officially Unveils Nexus 6P; Full Specs, Features, Pricing and Release Date

I would like to see how it runs on the Verizon network before pulling the gun. How soon before real world tests.... scratch, drop, speed come out?

Well, I just got my invite for Project Fi last night, so I am definitely going to be picking up the 6P with my paycheck next week. Assuming there are any left.
Just submitted a request for Project Fi. How long did it take to get your invite ?

I put my invite request in on September 3rd. So it took less than a month. Hopefully your invite comes just as quickly! I live in a smaller city though, that may have expedited the invite, as I know they are trying to test the market in as many areas as possible.

Thanks. I live in a small town as well, so maybe it will arrive with the phone.

Tempting to try Project Fi. I could leave my MAXX on VZW and put the 6P on it.

I haven't read the terms yet, but if there isn't a contract I think I'll do the same. Leave the Note on VZW and try the 6P on Fi. Will be a very interesting test, especially since I do live in a rural area where VZW dominates coverage. If it works well it will be so much fun to CANCEL VZW!

Are you okay with a new phone #? I've had this one since 2000. Can you port to Google and back if you need to?

I'd love to drop Verizon. If I can save $50 a month or so on a "reliable" cell phone service, I'll do it. I'll even give up my UDP for it.

Not sure whether you can take your # with you. But I could live with a new # if I can kick VZW to the curb. I have UDP too and have realized that I keep it just to be obstinate. Likely I could live with a fixed data plan.

When I get the phone and the invite I'll let y'all know what I discover.

You can transfer your current number from your current carrier. When you get an invite and go to sign up, it asks if you want to carry over your own number, or, in my case, use my Google Voice phone number as my number for Project Fi. Also, for anyone curious, as I think I saw it mentioned, there is no contract with Project Fi.

I like the idea that you get some money back if you don't use all of the data on Project fi. That's nice. Would be great to only pay for what you use.

I wish they had better than 2g in my area, especially now that I'm seeing reports that you can finance the new Nexus phones through them. Might be able to get mine sooner that way, but I can't live with 2G when not on WiFi.

Back onto the topic of the 6P itself, anyone have any speculation or guesses as to the chances of this thing selling out by next Wednesday? Hahahaha. Didn't last year's Nexus 6 sell out pretty quick?
