Google phone - Will this be the Droid Killer?

ya, thats the one thing i fear about getting a droid now. better stuff will come

but it is pretty cool, however, i'm not a huge fan of trackballs

same with me i just got my droid so i cant upgrade for 10 months...

I dont think it will be a droid-killer. It got stronger hardware, but the OS is the same!
So where is the deal about it?

I don't think anything is going to be a "Droid Killer" anytime soon! The Droid is packed with some awesome hardware that will hold its own just fine against anything that comes to the market in the next year...

there's alway's something better just around the corner. Do you want to get in on the release or wait for the next gen? that's always the question. I love my droid, but know in probably 2 months there's going to be a "better" or newer device out, oh well! Hey! In 2 years those newer devices will be old and antiques

HTC makes great products, Google is determined to take over the world, im sure itll be nice.

but new devices come out almost every 3 months, so its nothing new. some people jsut have to remain content with what they have.

On a serious note. Droid killer? No. Moto Droid is Google branded. They are not going to cut off their nose despite their face.

ill admit this, att&t in my area was great. i never had any problems, im in houston,tx.

but going away from houston and going inbetween towers was just horrendous.

What makes it a 'Google Phone' rather than simply a new Android device? Just the possibility of marketing it themselves/via the alliance?
