When Background Data is enabled, I get a persistent error that Google Talk won't authenticate. My primary Google account is an older one that doesn't use a Google email address. It's my primary one because all the accounts that Google wants to link together all use the same non-Google email address. This seems to cause problems with Google Talk. So i created a different Google account with a Google email address just for the purpose of authenticating Google Talk through it. It still won't authenticate. It's not that I use Google Talk, but I can't anyway. Nevertheless, I have this annoying error message that I can't turn off because Google Talk is integrated into the OS.
Does anyone have a solution for this that doesn't involve rooting the phone and voiding the warranty?
