Google Voice Update

Ok, so what new features is everyone noticing in this new version. I see:

1. Push Notification?!?!
2. Contact photos now have the same "frame" around them as in the contacts list app. You can now also click on the frame to bring up call/email/etc shortcuts.
3. Contact photo and shortcut frame added to the top of your text message threads (I don't believe they had a contact photo here before, did they?)

So, as far as a task killer is concerned. What is GV now referred to as? I had GV on my ignore list, but not longer see it, and it seems to have been replaced by " inbox_notification_registration_key"

For 2 and 3, it doesn't look like the contact photos are showing Facebook pictures yet, just gtalk pics... oh well

Google Voice big update finally

Newest update of google voice now pushes notifications of new messages either text/voicemail automatically. so for those who usually have it sent to mail, might not be necessary anymore.

I wish there was a way to tag you contacts to let Google Voice know whether the call should go out with GV or VZW.

I have some contacts (Other VZ users) I call directly with my cell number.
I have other contacts (restaurants, businesses, etc.) I call using my GV number.

The problem is I have to make that choice every time I make a phone call. It is a bigger problem when I use my cars bluetooth dialer, because I have to make the call from the car, then take my hands off the steering wheel to click the option on the phone.

Please Google, allows to tag phone numbers to automatically use the outgoing method I want with each phone number.

I am still getting duplicate texts from Google Talk friends. Is this a software issue or my lack of brains when it comes to a setting that I cannot seem to locate?

How do I stop my phone from getting a text message from some weird 406 # when someone sends me a sms to my Google #, which is not 406.

I get the sms through Google voice, but I also get a message in my messaging app from a different # - Can I stop the duplicate # from coming into my messaging app??

Edit - NVM, figured it out. Looks like you can edit your phone # in GV settings on the web and disable SMS messages. That fixed it!

I agree, though mine has to do with SMS. For people within VZW, I use their messaging, for contacts outside of VZW, I use GV.

I have it set up to ask me which each time. The first time I did it, I thought it was asking for a default on a per contact basis, so I could text my mom and wife through VZW and my pastor and hated iPhone carrying co-worker through GV without being asked every. single. time.

I chose one to be the default, but then afterward discovered it was THE default. For everyone.
