Google Voice

i have signed up for an invite twice, both over 2 weeks ago. if anyone has one can you please PM ME and i will post my e-mail. thanks!

I tried Google Voice and did like or want it. Now I'm stuck with my voice mails going through Google. I've done everything I could find on the net and I cannot get it to go back through Verizon. Killing it at the google/voice web page does nothing.

HOW CAN I RESTORE MY VERIZON VOICE MAIL SETTINGS? Man, this has got me irritated.

Thanks so much in advance.

Paul

You need to go to your Google Voice Page, settings, and change your settings.

You need to go to your Google Voice Page, settings, and change your settings.

I've done that, I've clicked everything I can hit on that page and it still directs voice calls through Google.

Thanks Hookbill! I FINALLY got it to default back to Verizon. I did see that page and actually went through the instructions about 4 times before it worked. *73 is what worked, but not the first time...What a MPITA. Google sometimes PISSES me off.

Anyway, all is good! THANKS AGAIN!!!

You just need to disable conditional call forwarding (what the "Activate Google voicmail" link instructs you to setup) -- i.e. *73 on Verizon.

Google sometimes PISSES me off.
Conditional call forwarding has nothing to do with Google. It's a feature from your carrier.

Lol...GV is a heck of a lot better than visual voicemail!

What's wrong with free visual voicemail? That's all I use Voice for

You don't receive notification of voicemails for several hours after it's been left. That's what's wrong with it.

Most of the time, with inbox synchronization enabled, the messages are delivered instantly. For the one out of every 50 voicemails that doesn't hit your inbox within a minute if you hit "refresh" it takes 10 seconds to retrieve. Sounds like a reallll problem to me.

For me, it was more like one out of 50 came through immediately. Refresh did work, but that kinda defeated the purpose of having it. My wife had the same problem, as did a work colleague. I assumed it was a verizon visual vm issue.
