You obviously don't know what you're doing or how it works.. GV is unlimited local and long distance.. Guess your paying top dollar for a huge minutes package when you don't have/need to. You can choose the cheapest data/voice package and disreguard the cap placed on your minutes per month..

Unlimited calling free?

I must've missed that part...only thing I really saw was the voice mail being stored/transcribed online.

It just seemed easier to just click on the voice mail icon on you phone and go from there....I don't really care if my voice mails are stored/transcribed online or not. seemed like more work not less.

Mods, we desperately need a google voice sticky. I'm answering the same questions over and over in different threads and the mis-information out there is getting crazy.

I would be more than willing to write up a very detailed post on how it all works, including tips and tricks with the Droid...if I knew it would be stickied so I didn't have to keep posting the link to it in different threads. Just let me know

Until then, anyone looking for basic info really needs to go to the official blog and read the newbies posts.. all your info is there:

I have a question??

the only benefit I see is to be able to have your vm emailed to your phone, then you can download it. then you have it on your phone and no need to call and check you vm's.

I have no idea but doesn't email get sent over the 3G network??

What if you are in an area that has poor 3G reception and you cant receive or download your vm?

Hard to believe that this thing is still invite only. Seems I set mine up months ago but never used it because there was on benefit on my old phone.

I got an "invite" from one of the members of this forum. It is "instant" and I had my numbers as soon as I was able to scroll thru hundreds of choices, let go of the obsessive/compulsive search for the perfect number, and choose the one I liked best. I am very appreciative. I have gone to Google Voice invitation page and asked for an invite but not yet gotten one. Should I get invites, I will certainly share them here with you. My Droid comes tomorrow. I'm very excited. Should any of you be prior Verizon customers, ask for the Win Back program department. They are empowered to offer a very good deal. Obviously the Droid is not going to hold any "value" as it has been on Wirefly for as little as $130, though that seems to be only for certain zip codes. But it is on Wirefly, Amazon, Sears, etc. for $150. But I went thru Verizon as I wanted their warranty. Sherry
