Yeah I did let it completely drain and shut off to fully calibrate it. That's what u do right?

That's at least what I did. Mine ran out of power this morning after being on for about 30 hours. Fully charged up, but now it is already down to 65% which seems awfully quick.

Maybe the battery is still settling in, as it did last overnight stuck on 5%. Now if only there was a way to disable the red LED at 5%.

When it was on for about 30 hours did you use your phone alot or just a bit?

i had 34% left on battery and cause the dam system read 5% it shut down...anyone have any ideas...i had calibrated like was stated in this thread...

Well whenever I use this reading app the whole time for my phone after fully charging it the battery lasts for about maybe 7 hours is that a good or bad length of time.

Im planning on ordering this tonight, so if my phone is not rooted, and i order this and use battery left pro everything will work right? And also will the red light indicator always be on?

So has anyone been able to either disable the blinking LED notification or change the battery settings so it will read the battery level correctly?

If not, I found the battery files in root explorer, they are located at:
sys/devices/platform/cpcap_battery/power_supply/battery

Could somebody come up with a work around? Sorry I'm not much of a dev

Nice find! Did you look through most of the folders on this device??

In regards to the stock battery life reader, I see no reason you cant edit the charge_full_design file with vi in terminal emulator to say 3500 for the new battery....I will be ordering one of the Gorilla batteries and I will test it out once I receive it. Unless someone else or Neverblu wants too?...

This is just a quick post while im in my Perl class ;) Ill do some more investigating of folders and files to see if there are any other battery folders.

I gave in and bought the 3500mAh battery because I will be traveling a lot very soon. It's strange, though. After rooting my phone and installing fission rom, I'm getting a good 10 solid hours of heavy use out of my phone (games, internet, texting, etc). With "average" use, I've even gone 24-30 hours one one charge using the standard battery. I am excited to get this new battery to see exactly how long this phone can last.

I looked through quite a few. I found a few forums of people attempting to do some similar things on other similar devices. I am not much of a developer but I would be eternally grateful if you could figure this out. I'd be willing to do whatever I could to help!

You can get even more hours if you use SetCPU and scale down the proc when the screen is off and as the battery level drops below a certain point.

Not sure your going to like the battery sticking out in the back.
It is an aquired taste! LOL Sort of like Beer that way!

I only throw the extended in when I know I will be using the phone constantly all day and won't be near a charger

Yeah, I'm going to be traveling through Asia a bit, so I do need the bigger battery. I was just informed that Verizon stopped offering the $65 unlimited international data plan, and is now charging $20 / MB of data use, but that's the topic of a different thread... battery should be coming in tomorrow.

I'm not too concerned with the size of the battery.

Lastly, about setCPU - I've heard that underclocking the device doesn't save battery because the phone will simply take longer to do the same tasks at a lower processing speed.

I am wondering how many charges these batteries will hold. Someone was saying that these batteries only hold a charge for half a year's worth of charges (180-200), and if that's the case, I will be slightly disappointed.

Well whoever said that about SetCPU would be wrong. The datarate of the connection isn't affected by the CPU speed and therefore it will take just as long to get a email at 600Mhz as it will at 1.2Ghz

But here is where the savings is.

When the phone isn't really doing anything when it's in your pocket it doesn't matter how long it takes to do it if it is sucking power at a rate about 1/3rd of full blown.

It is a way to ensure that nothing will ever ramp up the proc while it is in your pocket and by also scaling down based on Battery status you give up some speed to get more battery time.

to put it another way, you don't need 1.2Ghz to get your emails and txts which are the only things the phone should be doing when it's in your pocket or when the screen is off!

So whoever said that was basically wrong.
