Ok so last night I could not get this phone to connect to my pc for the life of me. Got it connected, now it seems that if the file I'm trying to move to the phone is just not the right format it won't allow it.
I tried to move a zip file and keep getting this file type is not supported on this device...I'm ready to pull my hair out with this phone!
I got like 5 pics transferred then kept saying nexus wasn't responding. Yeah I hope to get this figured out. I already miss my motocast on the Razr. Other than this issue Nexus is awesome.
How you transfer ringtones from pc to nexus. I even turned on us debugging. installed samsung usb drivers.
But I can not see how to transfer these. On my old droid it was easy. any help is appreciate.
Apparently the phone has to be active (the screen has to be turned on and not into sleep mode) while the files are transfering. Otherwise the files will not copy to the phone.
I was successful sending 2000+ mp3 files to the gnex over USB.
I also have file transfer working from Win7 PC to GNex over bluetooth. Added the GNex as a bluetooth device, then tag files and "send to" Bluetooth. about 50kbps... not blazing, but gets the job done wirelessly.

Did not work for me. I already had debugging on, but I checked off the "never sleep while charging" box and it still just hangs there or says it stopped responding. I transferred most of my pictures through FTP last nigh so it's not a HUGE deal, but it would make things easier in the future.
Although I can get things to copy if I switch to PTP, I'm not sure if that's safe for all file types. I did just find another workaround though. If you have ADB set up which of course you probably will if you plan to unlock the bootloader and root, you can use ADB to push your files over and at least in my case it's working great.
Uh looks like I spoke too soon. ADB did transfer them, but the Gallery app can not see them and Windows can't see them either. I CAN see them in a file explorer app though. This is really weird.
edit: It looks like you have to reboot after using ADB. I did that and the gallery starting picking them all up.
