Help please!!! Started to root now STUCK!

Then you need to do link 3 in my sig over again, when you get to the last part, you need to "allow" update.zip 1st that will make the screen flash, then right below it you do install update.zip, then you will see the screen pictured. Then power button back to main screen and reboot.

Also make sure you"catch the boot" as described in step 10...very important.

You say then power back to the main screen and reboot? So like shut down the phone and restart it? Or restart it the same way with the x and push reboot?

No, I mean after you get the "install from sdcard complete", press (not hold) the power button once or twice then you should be able to select reboot system as an option.

No there is an option to reboot your phone which takes you out of the recovery process which I believe is where you are currently.

Main menu of recovery with little android guy has a "reboot now" option. Select that and your phone will do the rest itself

OK..... so it says something about installation failed?? I have another question lol... Awhile ago I didn't want to wait for verizon to send me the FRG22 update. So I manually installed it. And that update file is on my sd card. could that be screwing with rooting it?

Did you download the 2 files in motocache's method? One should be named update.zip on the root of your sdcard and the other is the ".sbf" file. You should read it over again.
Took me a month of reading before I felt comfortable.

Sounds like mwhartman got it right, delete the both update.zips from your sd card then redownload Motocache's .zip, move to sdcard and reinstall.

I know it can be very confusing. I am what they call a "noob" myself. I was lucky enough to find a one click root for my Droid 2 after I had to unroot, or I would be lost. Here is a link for one click if you are running 2.1

If you are running 2.2 there is a. app on the market for it that is a one click as well. Super easy.

hope this helps.

One click root apps are EXTREMELY unreliable, and cause way more issues.

Agree! We see a lot of issues with the one click root tools. I prefer the hands on approach.
