Ok.... so... I tried it again... and it says.... E: Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 (or /dev/block/mmcblk0)
(No such file or directory)
E: Can't mount SDCARD:update.zip
Installation aborted.

Do yo sill have the recovery with the android in the background (SPR), or is it back to stock?

If you do still have SPR, make sure the file is named update.zip not update.zip.zip

Pull the battery and reseat the sdcard.

That is the error you are getting.

If you are still connected to the computer with the USB cord you will get this error too.

OMG YOU GUYS ARE ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So I pulled the batter out, reset the card, went in and renamed from Update.zip to update.zip.... and voila! It worked! I now have a crossbone thingy that says superuser!

What rom do i pick?

YES!!! Glad to here you got it going.

The Rom picking process is pretty much personal preference. Do a liitle reading and yo'll find something you like.

But before you do anything make a nandroid backup thru recovery so if something goes wrong with the Rom installation you can restore back to this point.
