Help please!!! Started to root now STUCK!

I'd recommend either ChevyNo1's 8-1 kernels (they seem to be more compatible) and P3Droid's kernels simply because they seem to work with most people's phones, the voltage and speed combinations between the two of them are phenomenal, and I like them. :D

P3Droid Kernels That's for P3Droid's kernels. MAKE SURE YOU'RE FLASHING A FROYO KERNEL!!!
 
No i haven't found one yet.... Still searching! I didn't realise how many of them there are! So now I'm trying to look for themes I like.... That way maybe i can see something I like and go from there lol.

Are those kernals/roms good with most themes? Will they work on a droid 1? Are they all froyo? Why do I need froyo?
 
Each theme is ROM-specific, so decide on the ROM first. Some phones can't handle some kernels, and some ROMs don't like some kernels, but themes don't care -- they just play with the ROM.

Froyo is.the newest release of the android operating system. Thats what the roms are based off of. There are a lot.to choose from, a few people here pointed you in a good direction. Look into roms from simply stunning, sapphire or even a stock rooted 2.2 rom like P3's release. I would first start with a rom then choose a theme that works with the rom. After that you can change the kernal if you want...

Those will work but remember some are based off newer builds then others. Newer builds are based off of FRG22/FRG22D... Cyanogen, sapphire and simply stunning are among the more popular and.you will find a good choice of themes for any of those roms.

The link is blank? lol So all those are compatable with a Droid 1 FRG22D ?
 
Its not about being compatible with FRG22, the rom is based off of that version. Have you looked into any of those roms people have mentioned?

frg22d is the froyo (android 2.2) build, but there are a few roms that are built from the latest source code released by Google, which is likely to eventually become 2.2.1. Those roms are LFY 1.7, Project Elite v2, and SnkBitten. The other roms listed in above posts are 2.2 builds.

Regardless which rom you choose, most of them will tell you in the first few posts what themes are compatible, or there will be theme threads in the same section as the rom you've chosen. Also, there is a themers section with about 8 different themers having their own section. If you look on them, they usually have screen shots of what their theme looks like. They will also tell you what roms they work with. So there are a couple ways to go about it.

As for kernels, Chevy and p3 make good kernels. I would also recommend trying out Slayher's kernels - they run really well, too.

Oh boy.... this whole thing is a lot more complicated than I thought it would be! Well... I couldn't decide on rom/kernels. I have looked and looked at them!!! I found a theme I like though... just not sure where i find out what rom its compatable with
 
Usually the first post of the theme thread will tell you which roms it works with. What's the theme you like??

I can't check right now (in a mtg) but ill look in a bit. Kookahdoo also has a pink theme with several roms...
