Flash the "recovery only SPRecovery SBF for the Droid 1" with rsd lite.

i dont understand how i can flash that when i cant copy anything to the sd on my phone becuase the phone doesnt register when i plug it in. not only that but the only options i have when i get to the recovery screen is the few you saw on the other thread. im not understanding. maybe give me a short step by step set of instructions?

You should be in the bootloader not recovery to flash the sbf. With the phone off, press power + up, on the directional pad, to get to the bootloader.

ok im at the bootloader screen. what do i do next?

Connect the usb and start rsd lite

i dont know where to download rsd lite from. everytime i click the link thats in the other thread it just brings up a blank page

Just curious, this method is like the unlockr method, did you get rsd lite to work for you then?

Thanks for all your help guys. Just a few more questions. I ran through and did everything that the thread told me to do and it worked. my recovery system is different. i have these options.

reboot system now
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
mount options
backup/restore
install

At this point though I don't know what to do in order to get my phone to turn on so I can use it normally
under the install section theres an option to choose ROM from SD card. but when i click it, the phone reads "E.No tar archives found"
whats the problem?

You want to install update.zip. not install ROM. Is it now Sprecovery?

You could try clearing cache first and reboot.

You probably will have to wipe data too if you've already tried to install a ROM over your stock set up.

Yes it is SPRecovery

basically, the new recovery system is up. all i've done is this:

FIRST. I clicked: allow update.zip installation
SECOND. I clicked: install /sdcard/update.zip (deprecated)

It gave me this message:
--Install from sdcard...

Installing update...

Mounting SYSTEM...

What do i need to do next?
