Holy moly! Please tell me someone can get this to work!

I made sure i uninstalled it completely from the phone first. Then just to be sure i got a clean start i rebooted into recovery and cleared the cache partition.
Next i used root explorer and copy and pasted the legacyphonesky.apk into system/app DO NOT INSTALL YET.
I rebooted the phone and from another location install the app normally as you would any app. I then rebooted the phone again.
Next i went into system/app and found the copy i pasted earlier and change the permissions to mimic the permissions of the official play store. I then rebooted the phone again.
Once fully booted i found the app in the app drawer and after opening it, it functioned properly without force close.
(now the disclaimer)
These may not hard and fast instructions but this is exactly what i did to get it to work. Good luck.
