Zeam now has DISABLE NOTIFICATION bar too. SO Home++, Freedhome and Zeam now have features in their apps to remove notifications.
Follow along with the video below to see how to install our site as a web app on your home screen.
Note: This feature may not be available in some browsers.
For adw it seems as if you must be running a rom. I am rooted with an o/c kernel but not running a rom, and it will not install.

You have to manually install it by ADB push or by copying it into /system/app
You cannot just open the APK and hit install like you can with a normal APK.
1. STOCK HOME (Free of course lol) meh, like most other people
2. PANDA HOME (Free) some good ideas, but overwhelming and a tad confusing
3. HOME ++ (free) have not used
4. GDE (2.60 Euro) have not used
5. SWEETWATER (Free, there is a new version released 5-12-10) uhm, where do I find this, not in market, and google doesn't give any relevant results
6. HELIX 1 (Free) currently my favorite and default
7. HELIX 2 (Free) too slow and not impressed by the 3d drawer at all
8. CLOCKWORK MOD ($2.99) same as Helix2, minus the home-row shortcuts, meh
9. ZEAM (Free) like helix1 minus 2 home-row shortcuts (which aren't as customizable either), nice and sprightly though
10. CRAZYHOME (Free) features list doesn't interest me, so I haven't bothered trying it
11. FREEDHOME (Free) I do like being able to add more icons to my home screens very much, but then there's the problem of certain widgets not displaying properlyif you set it above 4x4
12. DXTOP (Free Demo and $2.99 Full) meh
13. OPEN HOME (3.99) meh
14. TAG HOME (Free) meh
15. SLIDESCREEN (Free Beta or $6.99) bleh
16. Kewl OS :: Ayumi (free) no sir, I don't like it.....
17. extendedHome (free) app management and nothing else special, meh
18. Advanced Launcher (free) epic force close fail
19. Sweeter Home (free, at the moment at least) nice and customizable, but not to my liking

what I would love to see is a mix of:
1. Zeam's speed
2. Helix1's home-row shortcuts2b. with the added ability of 1x1 widgets down there (I'd love my gmail and sms notification widgets there)3. Freedhome's 6x6 homescreen
3b. with a way to fit multi-row/multi-column widgets on properly, either by by using the wqvga image sets (if possible, obviously this would be a wvga device solution) or by allowing the over-sized widgets take their normal screen space and flowing the modified icon grid around them
