Nova does not require root to add widgets from your app drawer. I'm not rooted on my Nexus 7. And I can do it.

in the app drawer options under "widgets in app drawer" it says "requires root or system app"

If it was a prime option it would have the little "prime" banner that some of the other options have

Well I don't know what to say to that. Because I'm doing it just fine on my tablet. Maybe it's different for phones which I'm not sure why it would be.

I don't know, maybe it's different for nexus devices because they aren't running a third party home like blur or sense

I'm not rooted in my Rezound or Nexus7 and can do it on both of them.

Yea idk what's the reason why its like that for different devices.

Well maybe it's a blur thing. I'm glad you can do it on your HTC cause sense sucks. Lol
