Just as an update, I've used if for a full day now and there were some quirks that annoyed me. Firstly, the Red eye loop happened to me ironically right after reading about someone else getting it haha, but it was easily fixed by doing a battery pull and rebooting. I had to make some calls today for quick emergency and for some reason the Phone app was acting really laggy/unstable. I don't know if it was sweeter home's fault or the fact i have so many widgets. But after it FC it seemed to work fine lol. Also some of my widgets are not updating!!! Beautiful Home's time gets stuck, and my Pure messenger twitter widgets doesn't auto update.AWESOME!!!!!!!
Just got around to playing with this. Got to say it looks AWESOME. Is really responsive and given the few themes I've d/l it looks like the possibilities to customize are endless. Can't wait to build my own template after I get the hang of it (but it is a bit.... confusing/overwhelming at first).
I've tried 3 or 4 themes already and the app scrolling don't seem to lag at all for me. Seems very fast and responsive so far. Looks great. Is it just me or do the apps scroll pretty laggily?
Does anyone know if the developers are working with 2.1 yet? I would be a shame to get into this only to loose everything in a few weeks when 2.1 goes OTA.
As far as regular use stability it pretty solid, I'd say my experience with it has been a lot more stable than Home++ and GDE. With both I'd get lag and a lot of FC when trying to go back "home". With SH2 going "home" is a bit laggy but definitely not an excruciating as the Home++ and GDE.
I tested my battery out today also. Regularly with moderate-light (texting, autoupdate of widget every few hours, no calls, and no GPS) I can get 12-15 hours with 40%-30% battery left. Today I got 17hours of moderate-heavy usage (about 2 hours of GPS using the navigator, a few short quick calls, checking news, auto updates with widgets) until it completely crapped out on me. So all in all not bad at all, Lasted me a day's worth without sacrificing any of my phones functionality. So the real culprits for battery drainage was probably the calls I made and GPS, other than that Sweeter home shouldn't really affect battery life.
As far as CPU usage, I did notice that under battery use it was up there in the list, I think it was 9% but went down to 3% after some time passed without using the phone. I think it just has to do when your actively using the phone. Under CPU usage in the Spare Parts app it was also up there in CPU use, total time of CPU use is a whopping 3 mins lol. But from my partial awake usage stats it wasn't even included in the list, so this means it wasn't working when my phone was on standby. Strangely enough facebook was, and I don't even have it set to auto-update :\
So, even though the CPU usage was a little bit higher it didn't really seem to affect my daily usage/battery life very much. Definitely worth a look for people worried about performance decreasing. The only thing that is really annoying me right now is my widgets getting "stuck" and sometimes not even showing up.
Looks pretty good so far! If Functionality is what your working on then I think it does the job! Here's what I'm building so far. It's all on one screen. Really with this app there's almost no reason to use more than one. Graphically, it's pretty basic. At some point I'd like to replace the button blocks with actual graphics. If someone wants to see the other screens let me know and I'll post them.
I want to hear any comments/ criticisms you guys have. The functionality has been my main focus, not making it pretty. Still, I don't think it looks that bad.
