It's sometimes hard to tell bad advice from good advice received on the internet, but I can tell this is a great piece of advice. I'm staying put!!
VZW has them in stock, but they're not authorized to sell them yet. I have a friend that's a sales rep, and she has no idea when they'll be authorized to sell them.
Also, she said it's huge and inconvenient.

Same! Bummer the new rumor is saying Thursday... I have a final at 9AM. And guess what? My local Verizon store opens at 9AM as well!
Exact same boat, 9-11:45 :frown:
Luckily it's not cumulative. Give me 30 minutes and I'm off to the store:hail:

Yup, same hours as me.. At least its my last final and right after I finish it ill be off to the store to [hopefully] pick up my Gnex, and play with it with no worries until January 25th =]
Who cares if I fail, 15 minutes after I leave there I'll be playing with my new phone in the parking lot of Verizon!
Think it's a good thing for us that it's coming out on the 15th...we're already talking about finishing the final asap just to get to Verizon LOL!
It's a long shot, but I'll call Verizon maybe Wednesday night and confirm, see if they'll hold one for me.

Good idea.. Thing is I doubt they will hold one because they really have no incentive to, especially if you don't make a deposit.. But it is always worth a shot. I asked the Verizon rep near my campus if I should expect a line when it does indeed release, and he said "yes" with no hesitation. I have a feeling that you and I are going to be store hopping after we finish our exams.
Good thing I love driving, just took a spin around the area since I just washed my car.
Considering the amount of calls these stores have been getting from probably people on this board or who follow the other sites, it's a very small percent. No advertising towards the general public yet, I like to think our chances are pretty good. However, I am not going to go home until I have a Nexus in my hands, that's a guarantee.
I stopped in a big VZW corp store on my way home from work. Asked about the Nexus.....they have one demo, but they wouldn't show me. As for a date as everyone knows, they are as clueless as we are...they said whenever it is, they won't be told until a couple days before, because corp, knows they will blab.lol.
