An alternative method for garbage app cleanup that doesn't require using shell is with Titanium Backup. You've got root, so you should have this installed anyway. :)

What blur stuff can be removed? Is it safe to remove all of it as i don't use any of it?
You'll need to leave most of it. BlurHome for sure. Looking through it real quick, I'd say the ones below should absolutely not be removed:

BlurCalendar
BlurCalendarProvider
BlurCamera
BlurContacts
BlurContactsSync
BlurEmailEngine
BlurHome
BlurPhone
BlurSNMessagingEngine
BlurUpdater

So if I removed all of these junks that Verizon installed it, will it improve the speed or ... just wondering.
It should improve the speed at least a little bit, maybe not even noticeable though. Hard to say, and depends on what you remove. My biggest reason is they are just annoying sitting in the app drawer when I'm looking for apps I actually want.

How do I install apps from my sd to the system? I want them there like normal. The way posted above didnt work from root explorer.

Nice!!!!

Can't wait to get this booosheeet off of my phone.

they way the walk throughs are posted... will this be an easy thing for a n00b to do? as in no programming experience or anything and this is my first droid?

if u can unzip files and use the terminal then id say yea. just copy and paste in the terminal (it does help to know what each term means though :) )

lol, why does this all look so familiar? :)

Market Issues - File Manager/Radio Service

Couple of things I noticed and thought it was worth mentioning

It seems that renaming the 'FileManager.apk' causes problems with the market's ability to uninstall applications... Once I reinstalled it, the market worked fine again.

I also had problems downloading from the market after renaming the 'FMRadioService.apk'. Once again, the problems went away once I reinstalled it (Note, you can remove the FM Radio app by renaming 'FMRadio.apk')

haha whats that supposed to mean

can't you just delete the unwanted apps with titanium backup? I mean all roted phones should have it anyway

does titanium backup give u R/W and R/O privileges? if so do it

and if you havent been reading, you CANNOT delete every app you choose to - if you delete mybackupassistant youll seriously mess up your phone

read this thread to see what u can and cannot delete

Sync does nothing?

When I do sync the installed apps do not change. Rebooted phone and they are still there. I ran Blockbuster even though I renamed it to Blockbuster.bak....

What gives? Do I have to delete the icon in the installed apps folder? Why is the app running if I renamed the .apk to .bak? Makes no sense...

Thanks! dancedroid

I was wrong....

I couldn't get Blockbuster removed but I found out on another forum that you have to rename /data/app/com.motorola.blockbuster.apk

Thanks.

I'd like to see a list of all the bloatware that can renamed without damaging a device.

I'd REALLY like to know how to remove kindle from my phone as well.

F***ing bloatware. >:|
