How to root your Incredible 2 with 2.3.4 explained

SO it doesnt recognize my phone.. I'm using windows 7

I am having the same issue of the PC not recognizing the phone. I have rooted my phone before and feel confident in doing so. But I can't even get started. Should there not be something that says USB debugging in my notification bar? Any suggestions would be amazing at this point!

You need to downgrade to get s-off. What firmware version are you? 5.*** is okay to use the normal downgrade. If you have 6.*** you will need to jump through a few more hoops.

Hi it's been so long I can't remember what I did but I would suggest trying a different pc. If I remember right it's a problem with reconnecting after a reboot?

Hi All. I am trying to downgrade to from 2.3.4 so i can root on an droid incredible. I have followed all the prompts. disabled fastboot, enabled usb bugging, and ran the file associated with running. It says complete, but when i check my version I am still on 2.3.4. What am I doing wrong?

I am having the same problem. I have tried it over and over. I do get an error though. In addition to the error which I will quote in a moment, when I give up and reboot my phone normally it looks normal but when I slide down the status to click on settings I always get the error 'Sorry! The application Status Bar has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.' I can fix this by resetting the phone.

Here is the log from trying this procedure with the error near the end. It is having a problem with installing the Gingerbread.

Any help will certainly be much appreciated. I have read all posts and tried the hack-vivow.cmd method as well. I also made sure the phone was in CDMA mode.
