HTC Droid Incredible Retires? Incredible HD Taking Over?

yeah everyone cheer up this will be a good thing in the end im sure of it! if we all hold on to our POS devices for a couple more weeks we might even get a better phone than the Dinc HD

You would have to think this phone is coming out either in december or begining of january given the fact that it is still running on 2.2. I can not see them sending a phone out without gingerbread in the first quarter. So I am going to guess that it will come out right around christmas time.

yeah but if its being changed to a 4g device the os may change to 2.3 as well...

True but it takes time to test if gingerbread will work perfect without kinks so that leads me to think if it is in testing stages that it will come packaged with 2.2 meaning they will end up shipping it out in december. I don't think they would give it to testers and then change to gingerbread the process will take to long I beleive but what do I know I am just a young man with a blunt

This is truely the question at hand now. I'm assuming its pushed till next year, but wishing it would still drop before year end.

I dont know, my Mother-in-Law had the DINC, X, and Fascinate all in a 2 months span and then went back to the X, lol.

I had them both within 2 weeks and went back to the dinc.

Blah.. my ne2 is nov 28, I really wanted a 3g 4' device. Since this isnt coming out I don't know if I should grab the X now or wait it out. I really don't want to spend extra money on 4g that I can't even use

Just wondering, since I have an upgrade and will now be thinking about what other options i have, what do people have against the fascinate? it certainly fills the 4" requirement

The fascinate is a great phone. Sadly, though, that isn't true out of the box..at least for me. I haven't rooted just yet..but the GPS is buggy..Bing. I use launcher pro which helped ALOT! The thing about the fascinate is that with Sammy making the nexus s...getting gingerbread ported over to galaxy s phones should happen fairly fast ( as with any future updates). If you root that is.

Base ui, imo is ridiculous. Its as if iOS was rebranded by playskool. Again..my opinion. But otherwise, I find it to be an awesome phone and of the the best phones, hardware-wise on the market. If you don't mind tinkering a bit...you'll love it. .especially once the bugs are fixed.

I digress though, this is waaaaaaayyy off topic. Apologies.

Ok folks. I have been patiently awaiting the arrival of this phone and obviousely it's not comming anytime soon. My new every 2 was up 2 months ago. I have a Storm 1, which I want to use as a hockey puck. Would you recommend the Droid X or the Incredible? I am leaning towards the X because of the bigger screen. I have no experience with a droid and am not interested in rooting. Thanks in advance for any comments.

Yup. This is the only thing I buy for myself every year, a Xmas present to myself. I will happily wait for the HD if it will be out before years end, otherwise I'll pick up an X or a Fascinate. And in all honesty, pretty much any current Android is better than this pos BlackBerry, so it will be an upgrade, just not as stellar of one.

Go to the store and test them both out. Also, I suggest an annual plan so next year you can upgrade to something like this or better.

my roomate has one, love the screen and res but the fact it still dont have 2.2 is hands down the reason i dont want it.. once 2.2 comes out i can see it being more like-able but then it still wont have a 1.2ghz processor.. LOL

Damn still got a blackberry I have a droid 1 I love it but I want something with a big screen a faster processor I have been waiting for almost a year to get a new phone lol since last februrary. Every phone that comes out tho is always missing something. If only a phone could come out with 1.2 processor or faster, ff camera-not needed but a luxury to have, 8 mg pixel camera hd capable, super amoled screen, great battery, 4.3 inch screen, latest and greatest from google, Is that so much to ask for? You would think these engineers were idiots. And one more thing no locked bootloaderdancedroid

Don't listen to him about the processor.

Unless its dual core...its incremental and you wont notice a huge jump on difference.

Why ya gotta scare the kid viper?? Oh, and 2.2 will be out within the next 2 weeks..
