HTC Incredible OTA Update Mysteriously Arrives!

Won't be the first time or the last that a reputable site has fallen for a hoax.

I find it extremely unlikely that one phone got the update and its not been reported anywhere else.

Last time someone passed off a fake here, they did the same thing--incremented the build by 1.

Phandroid does have a reputation for pulling fast ones to be the first to release news are get an onslaught of viewers.... "similar to the tabloids".......

I do remember a very similar event with the moto... a release that never panned out nor happened till many weeks later.

According to the picture at Phandroid, they already jumped two versions "software version 1.22.605.0 to .2 within two days of release... maybe they realized the cake was not fully baked yet.

But as with the droid, this whole discussion can turn angry and bitter if we are no careful... fortunately as there will always be bugs of some sort.. where we sit right now is pretty good compared to what we had with the moto.

Has ANYONE actually received an update?
My MEID # ends in 7994, and my software in .0. I got my phone on Friday and don't know if it was an update or the phone came that way. But, I do know this, I downloaded Iheartradio on Friday and haven't been able to get any stations to come through until checking tonight (after learning of this "possible" update). Seems real enough to me for now.

Here is some info I found on what the update actually is.... "IF" it's real lol

The update changes the build number to Build 494 and software number 605.2, with the update addressing an issue regarding Exchange-based email accounts and a random address input bug in the carbon copy field when the reply all option is selected, which would randomly insert addresses where none were present in the field.

ahhhh I see.... ya from what I could find it only address's the exchange bug... i'm sure it will be fixed soon though.

Don't think there is a signal issue though... I think its just the bars are being displayed incorrectly. If you look under ABOUT PHONE you can find that the signal strength is pretty high. Avg -99dB for me.

-99db is a poor signal. Lower is better not higher
