New phones usually start dropping before the holidays. By then they will at least be past the rumor stage.
I agree with PC, because the radios on the next batch should be more battery friendly with LTE (sg3 being an example) as well as quad cores being more efficient and battery friendly.

I bought my rezound on swappa for $225 just over a month ago. For $300 or less you can get a good nexus or rezound and save your upgrade.

thanks again...i have until november when my contract expires...so maybe its best just to wait...there is no rush i guess I was just trying to find out between them which would be the best......I have read alot about the new leak ICS for rezound and seemed to get alot of good reviews, and then a bit about JB for th galaxy...then got confused ....lol

Like scott said, you can buy a nexus off swappa. Maybe pick one up to play with. That or get the nexus 7 tablet. Will help ease the "new phone " jones.

just a thought ....if i got the Reziund now for example...would i be able to install the new firmware in the rezound as an example when it comes out???...or will it be only available on those selected phones that come out...????

Jelly Bean takes everything that's great about ICS and improves upon it plus adds some new features. Jelly Bean is also the newest version of Android, so that's where future development is headed.

There hasn't been any official word on whether the Rezound will see Jelly Bean, but I'd be surprised if it doesn't at some point. But right now, the Nexus is the best guaranteed route to seeing Jelly Bean in any sort of a close time frame.

That said, as an overall device, I had a much better experience with the Rezound than I did with the Galaxy Nexus. The reception issues were just too much for me through the four brand new ones I went through with the Nexus. The Rezound was a solid phone for me all the way around.

Jelly Bean takes everything that's great about ICS and improves upon it plus adds some new features. Jelly Bean is also the newest version of Android, so that's where future development is headed.

True but at this rate about time the rezound gets jb, if it gets it at all, dude be ready to upgrade to a new phone. Here it is August (tomorrow) and rezound still don't have ics. My grandmothers cheap htc virgin mobile phone has ics but rezound users still waiting. I agree the rezound has better radios.

I haven't had the Rezound for several months, so I never tested out an ICS leak for it. My observations on ICS come from ICS on the Galaxy Nexus, MAXX, and S3. I've also spent time with Jelly Bean on the Galaxy Nexus and on the Nexus 7.

I'm on the OG Droid but my boss offered to buy me a new phone (probably figures I'm way overdue for a raise) but regardless, I think I'm goin galaxy nexus over sg3. Just based on the fact that I love flashing new things, only real difference is camera which isn't really a big deal to me, and the 2gb RAM. And I don't want any touchwiz or any other crap, just pure android. Anybody see any problems with my views or leaning this way?

Hearing stories of cracked screens and cases coming apart scares the bajesus outta me, knowing I'm trying to avoid getting insurance. I'd hate not to capitalize fully on the upgrade and get the latest device, but Just don't want it to come back and bite me.
