PC Magazine said:
Best Buy on Friday said its Grand Rapids, Mich. store mistakenly posted release date information about the HTC Thunderbolt and the Motorola Xoom on its Facebook page.
"The info from the Grand Rapids store was posted in error, as the details included are not yet finalized," Best Buy said in a statement. "We will share updated and accurate information when we have it."

The post has since been deleted.

When asked, Verizon said that Best Buy determines its own product release dates. A Motorola spokeswoman said the company has not announced pricing and availability for the Xoom.

[Exclusive] HTC Thunderbolt Launch Date Pushed Back

thunderboldpic.png

Our forum administrator and my personal friend Miami1683 just brought some information to me that we thought you’d be interested in. This information has to do with the iPhone 4 and the HTC Thunderbolt. Not so surprisingly, the iPhone4 has been selling like hot cakes and that has caused Verizon to push back HTC’s latest LTE device for a few more weeks. Verizon anticipated the iPhone would sell quite well, and in an attempt to bring a little more attention to Thunderbolt, held the release for another two weeks until the 28th. This new date serves as a 2 week buffer from the iPhone 4’s release date which gives time for any returns to be handled in order to leave shops less crowded for people to get their hands on the Thunderbolt.

If you’re wondering where our information comes from? Miami1683 has a slide that has all this information detailed. Sadly, he is currently stuck in a car driving around Florida, and won’t be able to send it to us untill Monday. For the time being, you’ll just have to trust Miami1683’s track record and wait untill Monday for a little more evidence.

How do you guys feel about this news? First the iPhone limits our download for us high data users, and now we’ll have to wait two more weeks to get the phone we have been waiting for... What's next iPhone? Share your thoughts below, and spread the word.

I definitely agree.

Hahah....Although I am surprised, we shouldn't be. I assume, ultimately, this may be pushed 15 days after the public release?

Really, I can't believe they were going to launch 1 wk apart to begin with. I thought they'd space all their new phones, so 4-6 wks apart.

So first I trust Miami.. but the ironic part is on the hompage u have this article about iphone not doing swift and the next article is about Verizon stopping sales cause they are selling to fast.. :)

It is a somewhat curious apparent contradiction. I like the explanation of the 14-day return window.

I'm surprised they released a number if its only 100k, so outside of a few laughs someone may have bad data. Alternatively, it could all be the typical "create buzz" campaign that Apple loves, a pattern that other releases have tried to replicate, and perhaps the 100k wasn't supposed to leak.

And looking at the articles now, I see this is an analyst estimating inventory. He may have good sources or not, I have to lean towards not (don't know his track record).

I am kind of happy to hear this. It tells me that Verizon still cares about their Android lineup since they don't want the Thunderbolt to be lost in the mix of the iPhone hoopla. They want to give it a proper release.
