In reality Lithium based batteries do not require conditioning, and do not respond well to repeated full discharges.

How to Prolong Lithium-based Batteries - Battery University

IOW, with respect to lithium based battery technology, "conditioning" is a myth. A hold-over from the bad old days of NiCad and NiMH batteries.

However, there is a benefit to fully discharging your battery at least once to calibrate to battery monitoring circuitry inside your phone. This way your phone will be better able to predict remaining battery life.
