[ICS Leak] DROID 4 Build 6.16.211 (Received June 18th)

Right now I dont recommend ANY of you flashing the .211 leak UNLESS you have a USB cable that is new or isnt damaged and does work for you. Use the same instructions as before (renaming the kernel and everything that you used to go from .206 to .208).

After I fastboot 219 (using the Utility) and then fastboot the 211 kernel (renaming it to 206 and using the Unstick tool), I try to go flash the leak and it aborts every time. I even downloaded the Utility with the 219 fastboot files this time, in case I didn't do something right. Any ideas?

I do still have Safestrap installed.

I think I'm royally ****ed. After several attempts to at least get the phone back to .208, the battery was too low to program. What do I do!?

You need a Motoral fastboot USB cable that directly charges the phone, bypassing the battery. You can pick it up on ebay for 9$, but it will take a week at least to ship. I think zealot (or whatever his user name is on XDA) also sells it on his website.

Boy you guys were busy last night. I will update the D4 tool that I did sometime this morning and check the script for that "can't find device" after the kernel flash.

If you have a dead battery and no fastboot cable you can cut a usb and place the wire right on the battery terminals. You will have to peel back the sticker a little and remove a small rubber shield.

I'm a little hesitant to do this but I do have a USB cable that I can spare. I tried to peel back the sticker a bit and saw a spot where it said + and -. Right by it, I popped out a rubber cover and it seemed like two terminals. There were two screws in there.

I've never spliced a USB wire before - is it obvious which one is + and which one is -?

used the updated droid 4 recovery utility (renaming the 211 files to match the 208 files) and it worked great.

Got a little worried as it "could not find device" after only one item when I flashed the 211 kernel.

Thanks everyone for the great work.

I took a look at the script and I think i see why that message pops up. After you flashed the kernel did it boot right to recovery or did you have to manually do it?

As I mentioned previously, quite a few people had to do the whole process several times before it takes but it does work.

Because of this make sure your battery is 100% charged before starting. Kenji91 is the first person I've seen who ran out of battery so far. Last week when I eventually finished flashing 208 my battery was down to 30%.
