ICS on Razr, many not happy!

So after the long wait, many Razr/Maxx users do not seem happy. And are asking questions about going back.

Hopefully our experience will be better.

It was the exact same thing last year when GB hit the Droid X. I absolutely loved it but many hated it and went back to Froyo.

That's interesting Snoking. What issues are they having?

Wondering if it's partly due to the type of user base the RAZR has. I think there are a lot more impulse buyers and people swayed by advertising in their user base vs ours due to Verizon's big push for this phone. I would guess that they probably have a lot more people who are new to smartphones or not as tech-savvy as most of the rezound users. Then again, their version could be buggy.

If they are on these forums I do not think that is the case.

I think ICS is overhyped. Disappointed that we didn't get the drag and drop app uninstaller. I like the dock bar but that's been around for awhile just not on the Rezound. Other than that we're like cows finding the grass greener on the other side of the fence. We can convince ourselves of anything if there are enough voices. Like how stupendous the Nexus was sure to be. To bad its got a runt radio.

I have noticed several improvements over gb:
Better signal
No data drops as of yet
Loads everything faster
Boot time cut in half

Much better at least for me...
Many cosmetic improvements

I've seen people ask what ics is and things like that. It doesn't take much to sign up for a forum. They could still be ignorant to the forum's subject matter.

The one thing that makes me think the ICS upgrade will go better for the Rezound is that we already have a few well tested solid leaks out. As long as the final OTA is based on these leaks there shouldn't be too many issues.

I would say that it is a small amount of users. With every update users always think it is going to be so huge change, like going from Windows 95 to Windows 7. Instead they get upgraded from Windows 7 to 8. There will probably be some Rezound owners that would prefer GB after the update as well.

One difference for us shows in the size of the update compared to the Razr update. HTC appears to not be reusing much of the old code in their update like Moto did and this can affect user experiences.

While I do like your analogy, Win8 is actually quite a change from Win7. Maybe change it to Vista to 7 and it'll puts things nicely into perspective :p
