I'm getting the same thing. I was rooted when I tried the update last night, it failed, now that I'm flashed back to default, re-download the update. I am stuck with it saying the update is in progress and I can't get ICS!!!! Anyone got any other ideas on this?
I've been stock all along (probably to my detriment), because I just don't have the time to put into messing with rooting and keeping up with builds/updates/flashes, etc. - but I do have serious issues with the phone so I've been trying to be patient (not that I have much of a choice - it's not like Verizon is just going to give me a better phone).
Anyway, I'm hoping to get through this with a little moe patience - I believe this is a very large file that needs to be downloaded and a lot of folks trying to get it - I'm hoping that the update servers are just getting overworked and big downloads are just taking forever to complete (with frustrating pauses at times). That said, if I don't get this update in the next few days I'm going to lose it with Verizon - this really is BS.
Update: Download status is now up - 0% but it does not say paused (yet) - I'm guessing I'm getting download speeds comparable to a 300 baud modem - if it were any slower I'd have to find some sort a handset coupler to make the transfer </ancient computer hardware reference>

A beautiful morning here in Tampa- the birds are singing and choirs of angels are rejoicing. ICS is here. (Update & reboot went smooth. No glitches so far.) :icon_ banana:
Both my wife and I received it last night just after midnight. Mine took about 1 hr 15 min over 4g, hers took 45 minutes from start to finish over wi-fi. No problems. I was going to switch mine to wifi but I didn't want to mess up the handshake with the server so I was patient.dancedroid
:biggrin:I did it!! Took 2:30 hrs, worked incredibly well. I was so nervous, biting my nails. It sure looks different. I'll be on it for a while, re-learning where everything is and how it differs from gb. What a relief. Now, I can't wait for jb. Funny how we wait so long for an upgrade and as soon as we get it, we're looking anxiously for the next one! Will we ever be satisfied? Lol. Guess not.
Here is my initial review of the ICS after I got it yesterday night. BTW, I did a cache cleaning after the installation though not required.
1) It's looks stable,
2) Data connection is stable (much relief),
3) Google maps is picking up the signal instantly and showing directions,
4) Quality of call is good,
5) Interface is good.
Item 2 or 3 are so important for me and I am happy about it. As for the browser speed, it was ok before also (whenever I had the data connection) but it is ok now, not much difference there. No opinion yet on camera quality & battery life. I need to wait for few more days to confirm all these things for sure.
Yeah - when I heard the sqawk of the handshake I knew I was going to be in for a long process - I just hope when all is said and done I don't hear "You've Got Mail!" whenever I turn on my phone....
Its been a bit over an hour of downloading now and I'm up to a whopping 43% - SCREAMING FAST over 3g! By the time I leave the office tonight I might actually have this thing up and running (damn - now I probably just jinxed myself)....
Received OTA overnight...long process but install went fine. Certainly zippier, but already running into bugs. Main problem is that gallery doesn't seem to be loading pictures. I have a lot on my card but have also given it a lot of time to find things. Still nothing showing up--not even a "searching for media" message, as there was during the install. It may just need to spend a few hours searching my memory card. Smaller problem is that it is unstable with the app Alarm Clock plus, hopefully something the developer will fix soon. Haven't had much time this morning to look at other bugs/new features, but the zippiness is certainly a plus, the interface seems a bit cleaner, but the gallery bug (if it doesn't resolve itself) is certainly an issue.
Mine downloaded smoothly and seemed to be going through the process without issue but it's now been "stuck" at "upgrading contacts database" for a good 20 minutes. Anybody else get hung up there?
