ICS this week?

So you can't turn 4g off at all? I understand that some apps may function differently until they are updated.

You have to download the Thunderbolt LTE onoff app in order to turn it off. It's basically a shortcut that takes you into the setting where this is located. Then you have to select the GSM/CDMA auto (PRL) option which will disable 4g. I would agree that this is an annoying update to the phone but it's not like there isn't a way around it. Otherwise, I do agree that it's too early to tell but so far I love it. I think it feels like a new phone. Every menu looks different and the notification shade is a bit more refined as well. The camera takes better pictures and overall everything just feels better. The jury is out on the battery however. It's way too early to tell on that one.
People NO ONE KNOWS! Its all a guessing game. We have had dates thrown at us for months and so far the soak test is the only thing that came true. Don't get your hopes up for Monday. It's possible that if they are concerned about the battery issues they have put a stop to the full roll out. Trust me I am looking forward to this update like everyone else but for now I am perfectly find with GB because I know it works. It is coming but no one knows when for sure when the full roll out will happen.
I know we have heard so many dates, but I was told by Verizon (@vzwsupport) on Twitter in very specific terms that 10 days after official release (June 22nd) the software would be available for pull by all users. 10 days would be Monday July 2nd. I posted the exchange on this thread a little ways back, but don't feel like digging for it. Of course, this could be another (un)informed guess by a vzw employee, however, the specificity of their response gave some credibility to it, imo. Will I keep trying to pull before Monday? Absolutely! But I'm not holding my breath!

I was only going by the date Verizon put out in the webpage saying the upgrade to ICS would begin 6-22. Which also a tweet from VZW said if you did not receive the update OTA you could pull it after 8 days. Which would be saturday. Those are dates from Verizon (not a somebody that knows someone)

I will check also and I'm not holing my breath either. We will just have to wait and see what happens. Who knows

I previously had a gnex but returned it due to reception problems.I got a taste of ics back then though. Now I have the Maxx and can't wait to use ics on a phone with consistent reception and no dropped calls.

Same here I loved it on the gnex, but the phone itself was a glorified paperweight 90% of the time. Can't wait to get it back, I'm chomping at the bit.

I pulled last night
@vzwsupport (on Twtitter) has been giving out the "soon", "3-4 weeks", etc. etc. non-stop to those asking when it will be coming to their device. HOWEVER, they just responded to someone asking for the update: "Let's get you updated! Have you tried pulling the software this morning? Menu>Settings>About Phone>Systems Update."
That sure sounds as though they're expecting the pull to be available...

I wonder if that was just a coincidence and you were slated to receive it anyhow via the most recent wave? I'm sure that if people start having success with the pull we'll hear alllll about it!

Mine was already pushed to my phone early in the morning like I said. I tried pulling last night (that sounds bad) before I went to bed around 11 but no luck. I guess they're still pushing in stages. I also wanted to note that I did not receive any notification prior to getting it like a lot of other posters have talked about before. I just woke up in the middle of the night and boom, it was sitting there already downloaded.
