ICS tomorrow plz

Pandora updated and included support for ics which is a non system app maybe its closer to a soak and release.

That's odd because Pandora has worked with ICS for awhile. Maybe it's new features. But either way, the update is for the Pandora app on every Android device. It means nothing for a soak test or update on any particular phone, because, as you said, it's not a system app. System apps, and other apps from Motorola or Verizon, would be the only ones that might signal anything. But of course, most of those updated back in April, that didn't signify any impending update.

The update will come when it comes. :)

Edit: I just looked at the Pandora update, and it actually says "Compatibility support for upcoming Android OS." Given that Pandora already worked with ICS, that's an interesting way to phrase things...but it's probably just some ICS stability fixes or something along those lines.

Anything is possible I know it works with ics as my galaxy tab 2 is ics but the versions are different per device it may not be noticeable differences but they are there that's why apps for a RAZR aren't all compatible with all others. It may mean nothing with the update or could be a message sent from moto to certain devs to gear up. I'm waiting for ics I'm happy with it as it is as I haven't rooted but new software is always fun. I was just reporting the update to keep some hope of an update soon.

Actually, with few exceptions, most apps aren't different from device to device. They're the same across devices. The reason why some apps aren't compatible with other devices is because of hardware/software differences or because the developer wasn't able to properly test the app on a given device. The note of an app being incompatible is a setting in the Play store that is decided upon each developer. The app remains the same across the board however (again, with a few exceptions). If developers had to create a different version of their app for every Android phone, no one would develop for Android. So, they develop one app and mark it as compatible with certain devices in order to keep it from being installed on problematic or untested hardware.

And it's not a message from Motorola, especially since Motorola doesn't have anything to do with Pandora. Any "messages" to developers would come from Google, and Google has no reason to signal anything other than core Android OS changes, not individual phone updates. Hopefully we'll see ICS soon, but the Pandora update has no bearing on it whatsoever.

I understand what your saying I'm in no way trying to argue I'm just sharing my hope that all these little app updates are steps word a release of ics I love the function on my tab 2 and am just overly hopeful. I also understand nothing Is certain till its downloading on my RAZR even if others say its downloading on there's.

No argument here either. Just trying to keep the facts straight before rumors and speculation snowball out of control like they always do...

...which is really pointless I guess since they always do.

FWIW I've had alot of app updates in the last few days, including Moto apps... take it with a grain of salt.

A grain of salt indeed. Many posters, myself included, received those Motorola app updates with ICS compatibility back in April. Everybody thought that meant ICS was about to be released then...but that didn't work out so well.

You all don't realize it, do you? Big Red IS going through with the update to ICS right now....just one app at a time, hoping to slide in under the radar! LOL :-P
