If you're considering the X2, this is a must read!!!!

I know. You would think that nvidia chipsets would be geared a little more at gaming, and it is, its just the backwards compatibility that seems to be lacking.

is there an app for this forum? I'm using the web browser and it keeps telling me there is but when I say ok it says file not found. if there I is an app, where is it please and is it easier to use than the web browser?

I'd also say it is "easier," but to me it seemed much slower, so I just stuck with Dolphin Browser HD, which I love.

This phone has the nVidia Tegra chipset, yet almost every game created for Tegra phones shows as not compatible. Those are my only complaints.

This is my first Droid phone, and I came from an HTC Imagio which I absolutely loved. I cannot believe how convenient and powerful this phone is.

Couldn't agree with you more on this- absolutely LOVE the Dolphin Browser compared to the built in browser. Super fast and lots of options.

Really? I downloaded the dolphin browser earlier today and so far find the built in browser easier. I may just need to give it another try.

What throws me on a lot of apps is how many permissions they require.

Yeah, me too. This is the first Android phone/smartphone for me, and after having it for 2 weeks, I've gone kind of berserk with loading apps (43 so far). I always check out the permissions and if the app has the ability to change contact list, send contacts messages, or anything like that, I won't install it.

The battery life at the beginning is kind of misleading. I've had mine for a few weeks now and it has settled in quite nicely.

I can get a full day of moderate usage very easily now. The first couple of weeks were a little disconcerting though.

Zep, what are you calling this script?

I just ran it and got this:

Dear sir, you don't have the latest busybox installed. Make sure your phone is rooted, and then go into the market and install Busybox Installer by JRummy. But wait, you're not done!! Open it up, and click the install button.

I love my droid X2. I just don't understand why it seems to have been left behind so to speak. I am on the waiting list to hear about Gingerbread so I can make use of both cores, but it screams, especially with the Supercharge script that brought me to these forums.

This phone has the nVidia Tegra chipset, yet almost every game created for Tegra phones shows as not compatible. Those are my only complaints.

This is my first Droid phone, and I came from an HTC Imagio which I absolutely loved. I cannot believe how convenient and powerful this phone is.

Wait... froyo doesn't use both cores??! Like it only uses one of them?

And as far as games, has anyone tried installing "Chainfire" from the market? It was a rather large topic still going on over at XDA, but the short story is that games are very specific to certain properties of hardware and how opengl works, Chainfire installs a driver that is suppose to bridge that gap and allow you to play games that would otherwise not work.

Had the x2 for a couple of days and really liking the phone. I have had no problems with it what so ever. :)

Im coming from a D1 and Incredible

Actually froyo doesn't utilize both cores (the operating system itself) but for computing tasks it does so yes you can still play games and such that are made for dual core phones.

Well I've had the X2 for about a month now and I wanted to write back and give an update.

Since I wrote the original post in this thread I've done a few things:

-Rooted with Gingerbreak
-Installed Titanium Backup
-Froze a few a of the bloatware programs that I didn't like

Other than that, I have still NOT run any supercharger scripts, SD speed increase or anything else along those lines. I've considered doing these, but honestly the phone runs just fine for me without them.

I've still not encountered any audio popping, lag, video stutter, multiple SMS messages, etc....

The one thing I have noticed that aggravates me is how long it takes for the Gallery to load, and also the fact that I gotta bypass the social networking pics to actually get to my photos. I think that Moto completely wasted R&D time on this stupid feature. I think that when most people click on the Gallery app they are looking to access their photos that they have taken, not the facebook pics of everyone of their friends.

I still think that the X2 is one of the best 3G phones that Verizon has to offer and honestly the only thing that could make me consider switching is if the Moto Bionic actually lives up to all the hype. (Which it won't, there will as many haters of the Bionic as there are of the X2, even if it is a great phone)

So there you have it, almost a month later and I'm still a VERY satisfied X2 owner. I really cant wait until P3Droid and the other big name Devs get to working on this thing. The SBF is available, clockwork recovery is in the works, and P3Droid is going to be receiving a donated X2 here in the next couple of days. Good things are definitely on the horizon for the X2, so stay tuned!!!!
