Im confused.

OK...so i did a hard reset, formatted sd card, redownloaded gingerbreak 1.2 and bootstrap and now same thing its rooted but will not boot into bootstrap recovery and will not install the 2.3 vzw update...IM LOST PLEASE HELP

Also...did u install recovery button first and grant system recovery superuser rights or something to that effect. I would open superuser and if u see system recovery there press it and hit forget. Than go to system recovery app and press install recovery. Before this make sure usb debugging is turned on in development settings under applications in settings menu. Ans make sure u press allow after u pressing install recovery.

Also after doing recovery mode it took mine a minute to actually launch. The blue wheel stopped spinning and ut looked like it locked up then it finally booted

Did u run gingerbreak after the hard reset to get to rooted 2.2.2? It MUST be rooted in order for system recovery app to work correctly

yeah I did...i wonder....the kernel didnt change it didnt look like when I did the reset..you think that would have something to do with it?

This did happen for me actually but not for the same reason.. I probably did something wrong tinkering with this phone.. to fix this issue I needed to SBf back to stock.. then I did a manual factory reset on the phone.. redownloaded gingerbreak and then system recovery.. plugged in wall charger.. hit system recovery icon, install recovery.. then lastly go into recovery...there are directions on how to sbf in the forums somewhere in this hacks section.. I just did the sbf on this phone for the first time last night.. if u follow directions on site will work great.. hope this helps

Sorry buddy I fell asleep last night...I don't know much about kernels so hopefully someone else can answer for ya. I wish I could be more help. It went so smooth for me that I didn't need to troubleshoot at all lol

Are you using the bootstrap for the atrix? The bootstraps in the market will not work.

Are you plugged into the wall socket and not the usb of your computer? It has to be a wall socket for it to work.

wow i feel stupid...I didnt have it plugged into the wall, I had it plugged into the computer..........well it works now Im going to try to put rooted 2.3.3 on there now
