Im confused.

wow i feel stupid...I didnt have it plugged into the wall, I had it plugged into the computer..........well it works now Im going to try to put rooted 2.3.3 on there now

Congratulations...I knew it had to be just some really small step that got overlooked but is important enough to not let it work if missed. Since I didn't have any problem.

My advice next time is do what I did.
write down on paper EVERY step needed for what u r doing. And if a step has more than one thing u need to do then split it into two different steps. Then as u r going through and doing it cross off or check off that step so u are certain one didn't get overlooked. I probably would have had the same problem u did if I didn't do it this way just because it seemed so simple I was bound to miss a small thing somewhere lol

HELP - ota update

I hope I can get some help, my X2 is running gingerbreak, script manager, and V6 Supercharger. the OTA just came through for the latest update 1.3.232 and I dont know what to do. It auto downloaded the ud and tried to auto-install but it failed. I ran root check and it said im still succesfully rooted and busybox was installed correctly.

Im new to the forum so please explain in semi-dumbass as I am just learning the hacks and dont know all the terminology yet....I really hope someone replies.

I appreciate any help offered. :blackdroid:

What goal are you trying to achieve? Do you want to upgrade to Gingerbread with root or as pure stock?

Im already running GB. What I would like to do is make the supercharger work best for me. I also believe I may not be on the latest version of supercharger and have no clue how to update it. I am constantly getting the pop-up that my phone has recently dowloaded an OTA update from VZW and obviously im rooted so I dont know what to do with that. Originally I supercharged my X2 to help eliminate popping and skipping when playing MP3's. It made a small difference but according to what the forum says about the supercharger I hardley can say my phone is running better.

I appreciate your help on this...dancedroid

The bold in your quote above are contradictory statements. You can't be running Gingerbread if you are getting a prompt for an update. Despite the name running the Gingerbreak root hack doesn't update you GB. It's called gingerbreak because it was a hack that was successful and rooting some Gingerbread stock roms though not the DX2, it also proved useful to root many Froyo based roms including the stock DX2 rom.

I'm taking a wild Guess that you have used Gingerbreak to root your phone and now have a Froyo rooted ROM. From the home screen if you hit the menu key then settings, then about phone, what Android version number do you see?
