Improve your Droid X voice quality

With the latest software update from Verizon, the location of the codec setting has moved on my DroidX. It is now under "06-Test Mode". Touch 'Next' twice and change codec in "Service Option" pull down. When I backed out all the way to the dialer, the phone did not re-boot. I shut down and re-started mine. When I went back and checked - I was using EVRC-B.

Hope this helps!

I tried it today and it said that the featured upgrade/update was not available to call verizon customer care @ *611.

Funny seeing this old thread pop up just in time to remind me to do this with my new Droid 3. Worked like a charm, with the setting moved to the different menu as already mentioned.

It shouldn't be making a call at all. It's one of the hidden ## features, which activate hidden programs on the phone instead of making calls. Did you forget one of the #?

See my screenshot...nothing happens plus the instructions say to send. I would assume that means the green send button right?

That doesn't look like a stock dialer. Maybe whatever you did to replace the stock skin messed up being able to do the programming launch.

is there a way to save the settings? I find the option, make the change, and then hit home to exit to my homescreen. After rebooting the phone, I'm still on the evrc settinc.
