installation error of some kind

So I installed the rom through rom manager, except when it reboots i go back to the green android guy screen with the default rom that came with the phone. I try to restore the previous rom, but when i go try to boot to recovery the screen gets stuck at the motorola M logo. Help!!!!!!!

You aren't suppose to install through ROM Manager. To fix this pull your battery and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes. Put the battery back in and boot up. Open the bootstrap application, boostrap your recovery then reboot recovery. Then you are able to flash
