Is anyone else dropping Verizon when they're contract runs out?

^That is an out and out lie. It's possible that is what the rep was told to say, but it's not true at all I assure you. VZ somehow changed something on my account, I noticed before the billing cycle was over, called them, it got fixed.

according to the rep I called last month because I accidently removed a feature on someone's account, the only way you can get something no longer available re-added to an account is if you call the same day it is removed.

But what happens when a couple months go by and I am billed for going over the cap I was never supper to have?

If you wait months before you bring their attention to a mistake then chances become good that they both won't correct it and that you will not have the erroneous charges taken care of.

If many people leave...

If they see a down slide in customers and one of the smaller providers sees an increase, they may be forced to change their approach. You don't have to just sit back and take it, there is power in numbers. I will be leaving in July. I have three phones on a family plan with unlimited data. Two are due for upgrade in July. I refuse to pay full price for the new phone and will not eliminate the unlimited plan. I need it for business on my phone.

for those locked in for at least 1.5 yrs. I think we are all worrying too much.

Look how many changes they've done in the last yr. they got rid of unlimited, then did a promo of something, another promo of 2GB, then double the data, then got rid of it, then put it back, now we get this.

i wager this time next year they will revamp the data and give us something they think is better.

i'm set for 2 yrs so I'm not going to stress it out.

I am locked in to unlimited until they completely eliminate it.

You are locked in until you buy a new phone and start a new contract. Today I went in for a upgrade, and was in for a HUGE surprise. I was so pissed that I was ready to switch carriers. I went to Sprint and T-mobile and the savings are just not worth it to make the switch. For all 3 lines I was looking at about 20 bux a month. Goodbye grandfathered plans!

I still have about a year, but even if I could keep unlimited data I would still switch over to Metro PCS. It's sooo much cheaper and their coverage is surprisingly good, even in the small town I live in. I get full 4G at my house. Better coverage than Verizon actually. AND NO CONTRACTS!!! Best of all, I hear you can f;ash verizon phones and use them since they are both CMDA

I went back today and ALMOST pulled the trigger on a new phone knowing that I would lose my unlimited. Then it dawned on me that I was completely out of my mind. There is no way that I'm going to pay 70 bux for 4 gigs shared. That is INSANE! I'd like to know how they came up with this. Verizon smartphones are completely worthless now unless you are on wifi all day long. I watched a 45 minute video on youtube that burned up nearly a gig. My 4 phones are going elsewhere at the end of this contract unless they make some changes.

Right now I have unllimited data & unlimited hotspot with my 4G phone. I'm going to give up my unlimited kicking & screaming - the least expensive way to keep your plan is to get a CPO - certified pre-owned - they come with a 1 year warranty same as new. I'm good with my current plan - the new plans SUCK. They are not for everyone.. they are not for most people. Jacked up the price - triple for a basic phone -- not everyone needs unlimited talk & text - not doing me any favors. Don't need it - don't want it...

Yes, that will be the solution once you can order CDMA Nexus devices direct from Google or if you decide to switch to a GSM carrier. The new-in-box prices for the CDMA devices from Verizon and Sprint are ridiculous.

Easy simple solution... order a Nexus device from Google and never sign another contract.

Especially if they are only $400 like the Galaxy Nexus. That's only $100 more than a RAZR MAXX on contract. Let's all hope that they start selling VZWs Nexus phones from the Play Store!
