Is anyone NOT having battery trouble?

day 1: Battery life abysmal
day 2: little better
day 3: better than how my droid would have done under same use

I guess i'm one of the few that gets good battery life - but of course I have spied on the forums before I bought the phone:

First night started at 70% and went to below 5% in under 2 hours. I expected that and I tried to run the thing dry before the first full charge.
Second charge I ran it with light usage for 1 day = 70% battery left then charged overnight again
3rd day 70% left
4th day 40% left

I'm a pretty light user gmail/exchange mail light surfing....facebook etc, couple of very short voice calls. I turned GPS and bluetooth off since I don't use them on a 'normal day'. The battery is always set to night mode. I have the standard battery that came with the phone. Screen brightness is set to automatic. Background updates are enabled.

Seems the only fix is the extended battery which is what i did. -_-

I also bought the extended battery and I don't seem to be getting much more out of it either. When I charge it, it will say charged, but the icon in the notification bar doesn't fill the little battery all the way to the end of the little tip. If I charge the regular battery it does fill the icon all the way to the little battery tip. Is anyone else seeing this? I wonder if my Droid 2 isn't reading the extra battery right.

idk but I've been charging my extende battery for over an hour now and it only went from 60% to 70% idk what's going on its been at 70% for a while

I got the extended droid 2 battery and I think its working, somewhat well. I've been using it almost nonstop browsing and what not and its been like 6 hours now and I just hit 15% so I guess that's pretty good?

Works about the same as it did on the D1. Which was similar to the Blackberry Storm.

Have an extra battery, a wall charger, and a docking station with a charger and you won't be worrying about battery issues. I have 2 extra charged batteries around at all times, when I get low I pop one out and put another in.

I'd say I get 4 hours charge time during heavy use (that would be simply leaving the display on as that is the biggest battery eater of them all). If I'm not using it heavy then it's usually in a dock charging anyway.

I removed all my social networking account (i.e. Facebook) and FINALLY, the battery life is where it should be. I can go a whole day with moderate to heavy use without a charge. Hope my experience helps.

First day w/D2, using battery from my D1 purchased in November 2009 (D2 battery was delayed).

Battery life seems about the same as on my D1, decent, but not overwhelming. Been off the charger since 7AM and am at 60% now at 4:30....been fooling around with it a fair amount 'cause it's new (:)) and it's holding up just about the same way my D1 would have, as far as I can tell.

I have a buddy who gets two days on his D1 consistenly, doesn't do anything special, uses it about the same that I do...I never got anywhere near that on my D1. Some people just seem to get Droids that are "special" (sometimes good special, sometimes bad special).

I wish I had some idea what "normal" usage means, because I'd like to think I fall into that category, but I might be a "light" user by some standards.

Regardless, I was a day one adopter, and would say the battery life has been comparable to my Blackberry Curve, better than a D1.

I use my phone for business, so I receive a fair number of work related calls, I do a fair amount of email and texting, light internet browsing, and mainly only use weather, sports, TV, and fantasy football related applications. I unplug, on an average day, when I wake up (roughly 6AM) and don't recharge (on most days) until around 10/11PM (when I crash). No widgets to speak of, because I think (for the most part) they're useless, ugly, clutter, and I'm a neat design freak.

So far, so good. For me.

The battery life is better than the original droid I had. It seems to be lasting most of the day with moderate to heavy use.

This helps:
-Use GPS only when you need it. Otherwise disable it.
-Use auto brightness
-Disable Blue tooth if you are not using it.
-Change how often your email is checked, do you really need yahoo to be checked every 15min?
-How often is your weather widget being updated?
-How often is your facebook or twitter being updated, you may consider that it only update when you launch it.
-Use wifi if it available, i think it draws less power than 3G
-consider pluging your phone in if you are driving or sitting at your desk

It is very rare that my battery goes below 20% in a day of browsing, listening to podcasts, talking on the phone, and maybe even a game hear and there.

Yeah - on top of not using Widgets, I should also note that I don't keep wi-fi on at all times (meaning it's not constantly searching for a network), I have minimized email/FB updates, never have Bluetooth on if I'm not using it, same with GPS.

To be honest, and I won't proclaim this is the cause for everyone complaining in this thread, but one look at just about any of my friends Android phones who are complaining about battery life and I know it's not a problem with the handset, it's a problem with the user (i.e. people don't understand that a million widgets and every feature on, all the time, will kill a battery quick).

Need more battery life

I want to be able to use my Droid X as an I-Pod on plane trips. What kind of external battery pack will do the job?
