Is Droid Turbo getting Lollipop?

Correct me if Im wrong, so the only difference to Between the Nexus and Turbo Internally are the Radios?
From what I've read and what little I can recall, Yes and No. It has something to do with 3G, 4G, and VoLTE handoffs in part because of the radio. Or some such. I've tried looking for the post in which it seemed explained best, but I'm not having much luck.

Plus Apple doesn't exactly have any sort of customer support. Just the "Genius Bar." No email support and no online support, only community forums.

Apple has those types of support AND a Genius Bar. What do we have?
Google who will offer you no help whatsoever, or the manufacturer.
None of the manufacturers are exactly stellar at support.

I had a good experience with Moto's online support. I can't say the same for Apple's Genius Bar. The one I went to when my iPhone 5 was overheating and having terrible battery life was useless. They stood there looking at the phone as if it was a forbidden Android, plugged it into a diagnostic thing and told me, "Nope. Everything is fine." Meanwhile I get my phone handed back to me much hotter than the Turbo gets while using the Turbo charger and playing games.

And any of these non official forums are more informative than Apple's community support forum. Even non affiliated Apple forums had better info compared to Apple's community support forum. No Apple employees post or monitor their own forums.

I've received decent support from Samsung in the past. They were actually very courteous and "seemed" quite knowledgeable. Of course that could have been an isolated incident. Anyone who has had to deal with Verizon in any capacity will tell you, their experiences vary greatly depending on the circumstances, and who answers the phone. (whether it's product knowledge, tech support our simply help with your plan) It's a total crap shoot.
The reality is, this is prevalent in EVERY business these days. Generally speaking, people simply don't take pride in their jobs the way they used to. The only reason you see this at the "Genius bar" is because that's what Apple requires of its employees placed in this position. If that's not what you can provide, you'll quickly be replaced with someone who CAN provide the customer with a canned response & a fake smile. It's that simple. [emoji3]
WE, on the other hand, have each other through our various forums. It's been shown time and time again that when people actually enjoy something, (whether it's working on cars, mtn biking or customizing ones smartphone) they also enjoy helping others do the same. That's why forums like ours, filled with Android enthusiasts, are so popular.

So knowing that this phone is probably not getting the update soon, I have my 14 day return window closing, so I will probably take it back tomorrow for something a little more future proof...

Nexus 6? GS6? LG G4?

I think I'd go for the G4. Someone in my family has a G3, and it is a really nice phone. If the G4 is as good or better you wont go wrong. Plus, having a removable battery and simm card are still bonuses to me, IMO

Good points. One thing that bugs me though is waiting for updates. I think the only way to truly deal with that is with a Nexus...

Other than the Nexus you really aren't going to get any guarantees of fast updates. The update cycle is less of a concern to me than the operation of the device. In this regard the Turbo has been outstanding in nearly every respect from my experience.

And it appears that vzw has corrected their turbo page, to reflect that it comes with 4.4.4..
