issues after update anyone? ??

Called VZW yesterday. Support claimed there were no known issues. I mentioned the problems were listed in the VZW support forums. They had me full reset the phone. This made my 4g worse than the actual update.

A simple factory reset would not have had a negative impact on your 4g... sorry.

Try a new sim card or powering off your device and removing your current sim..power it back on...the back off...reinsert the sim carefully.. don't get finger prints on the foil sticker if you can help it..

Power the device back on...see if that helps..

Or if that's too much for you..power off the device, power or back on and let it re register with the towers .

I checked LTE yesterday and got 22.5 Meg down and 7+Megs Up. When Cnet tested the S3, they got about half that in San Francisco. I am about 65 miles east of there and it looks like being more in the boonies is an advantage.

It seems the problem is with the WiFi, have to wake up the connection sometimes. The "Multi" screen is really Dual screens, but I can see where it will be handy. Sometimes the tab disappears, but it can be recovered by going to the display settings and click it off then back on.

Also, unless I use the internet heavily, I am able to last the day out and be around 35%. This was accomplished with the Snapdragon BatteryGuru Beta that was installed before the update. At least 5 days a week I run Pandora thru Bluetooth headphones a little over an hour every morning, not using WiFi as the guest login at my gym sucks. I have the battery app set to keep WiFi active.
To access multi Window just hold down the back button for the tab to reappear, and do the same for the tab to dissappear.

Lol, says the person with no issues.. Also add to the list can't receive picture messages now. Phone stuck on 3g and only way it switches from wifi to 3g is toggling airplane mode.

The issues everyone is having has to do with the new radios, if you are rooted just load the previous radios, and you should be fine, the new radios are VRBMB3, the previous radios are VRBMB1, you can find the radio download links at www.rootzwiki.com

My phone has locked up 4 times since the update. It's never locked up in the year since I've had it. It locked up 3 times using the camera and 1 time during an app update. I had to remove the battery in order to restart the phone. Verizon says that I need to do a factory reset. Until they figure out how to save and restore my app information, no factory reset. I'm thinking about rooting the phone at this point in order to save a year's worth of app databases.

OK, here is my initial prognosis, I installed the older radios VRBMB1 "new radios are VRBMB3 with the new Verizon update", I get much faster download and upload speeds with LTE, will check the battery drain for a little while and get back with my final analysis. From the looks of it, it is the new radios that are causing the issues, the same radios "VRBMB3" also have been causing numerous issues with some of the ROMS out there, but good thing for the ROM developers they fixed them ASAP, same can not be said for Verizon, "they are hoping you go and get a new S4, LOL".

Very curious, On Tuesday I had to actually turn off my phone around three in the afternoon to save some battery in case of emergency. I have never had to do that before, and I updated sometime last week. After restarting the phone everything seems fine now. I assumed an app was running that was draining it on Tuesday, but maybe it was the new software. I wasn't running anything that doesn't run typically, unless it was something that was accidentally selected. Regardless everything seemed fine yesterday and today as well. Hope whatever the issues are they get things worked out quickly.

Got my new phone and sim card now. Still having issues not getting 4g, phone freezes switching from wifi back to cell service, horrible battery drain.. Any suggestions?

So what made you think getting a new "refurbished" phone was going to solve the software issue, and the issue is the new radios, since it was not and is not a HARDWARE issue, getting a new "refurbished" phone is not going to solve the problem, by the way did you read my post above, there is nothing wrong with the update except the new radios. But since you are not rooted you are at the mercy of Verizon, so keep waiting for them to solve the radio problem.

It's very easy to root the S3, just think of all the different ROM's you can run. You can also run stock Verizon Rom without all the bloat, that's what I am running now. You are in control not Verizon.
