It’s Official: Flash Coming in Froyo

yes! i cannot wait to watch hulu (when im too lazy to turn on my computer :) )

Unfortunatly HULU might not work with this. I mean yes, hulu is flash but there is much more to it, so I am thinking it's possible that sites like these, netflix, may not work even when flash is installed... No one will know till its tried, but thats my educated guess...

As for flash.. get going ROM developers, we need this before them! Ha.
Netflix is on the ipad, I don't see why it couldn't be on an android phone.

Well yes it is possible in my mind, however I am saying that I don't think that having JUST flash will make HULU work. I am no genius, but I think there is more to some video sites than just flash.

Netflix for example needs a plug-in installed, so maybe HULU and other video sites are not only flash oriented?

The news is Froyo will support flash.

But you are saying that our current 2.1 build will support flash.

So where is the news?

Re: It’s Official: Flash Coming in Froyo

My guess is hulu will not work. They don't like to play nice with the mobile world.

It was confirmed it would be coming at the end of the year. Froyo will probably come at the end of the year.

Therefore this is not anything new.

Ummm... Froyo will be dropped at Google I/O as will Flash for Devs. Flash has already been stated by Adobe to be released on the Nexus One and the Motorola Droid by the end of Q2/2010. Also note that Flash has been running on the Droid AND the Nexus since January of 2010. As for when Froyo hits the Droid THAT is another story. Motorola/Verizon will be behind that. So I do believe it will be up to the devs. in the community to get whatever is necessary in the 2.2 SDK and AOSP rolled into a ROM for the Droid so we can run Flash before the "Official Verizon/Moto" release of 2.2

hopefully it will be that easy..... as long as the code is uploaded to AOSP, we're golden

OFCOURSE..days after i finally decide to root again...i hear that flash is finally coming in less then a month...MEH!!!!!

but now i can brag to my roommate who has an iPhone HAHAH *childish banter*

He also promised that full support for Adobe’s Flash standard was coming in the next version of Android, code-named Froyo.

If you read what he said, FULL SUPPORT, it doesn't say a thing about flash being INCLUDED with Froyo. I still think its a ways out. Maybe several months out.

Ok, based on the fact that Adobe said no devices will be shipped with Flash until Q3 2010 and the fact that Froyo will be released with a fancy new phone for google to push, Froyo will not be released until, at the earliest, Q3 2010.

So you work for Adobe and Google? You must having this inside information. No one really knows the date but Adobe has said they are still on track for the first half of this year. Not saying its gonna happen but no one has the facts of when the release is.

Just because someone says "before this" or "during this" doesn't mean its concrete.

Do you guys realize the difference between "Before the end of H1" and "During Q3" is the matter of a single day?
