It's Sunday, 2/6... Who went to Best Buy?

I thought an activation fee was for starting a new line?

I went by BB today to ask about the TB, and the girl there told me "It's either the 14th or the 24th I can never remember the release date."

14th man, so many people on this thread say their bestbuys told them the 14th.

But yeah now that I think about it, $35 activation fee is for a new line only.

Pre ordered mine and on the preorder form you get it says "expires 2/16/11" so I think its safe to say the 14th is the day.

480 X 800 yestertech lcd screen (lower resolution than the D1 @ 854 X480). Not retina, not super amoled, not amoled, not s-lcd, just plain old fashioned lcd. Everyone's ok with that? The next phone after my dream phone? I.D.T.S.! I feel like they're trying to pull a fast one.

If your next dream phone had super amoled and could do everything the tb can than you would be looking at a phone that wouldn't last very long battery life wise

That's why my dream phone would have something more along the lines of the 1900 mAh(?) battery of the Bionic. By the way my D1 has a 1390 mAh battery. I'm not saying it's a horrible phone, they just left out tons of upgrades that others are doing. Isn't amoled supposed to be easier on battery life?

It is my understanding that it is a slcd screen. At least that is what htc said at ces.

The specs are up at the htc site and say plain oldfashioned lcd. When I contacted them and pointed out that the rep said slcd at the CES I got a polite brushoff.

Pre-Ordered Today!

I have had the OG for a year and a half I think I think I can "survive" that long with the TB lol!

But seriously if its just as fast as the Nexus S, probably faster, Ill be happy. Oh yeah but no screen burn though lol!

According to this it's super lcd

Hopefully I got the attachment from the htc site to save correctly. Their site and rep (via email) say wvga, which is 800 X 480. Huge disappointment for me. I was set to get this.

Actually AMOLED sucks battery life, SLCD achieves the opposite effect.

Ahh, good to know that.... no, wait! Now I'm even more ticked it's not SLCD.

You do realize slcd only refers to the screen tech, not the resolution. The site doesn't mention the screen tech. If you are right about it being LCD only, you will have a scoop, because this is the first I have heard about it not being slcd.

Preordered mine on sunday. I will be watching amazon to see what kind of price they come up with. May go with them.
Here is my plan though.
BB doesn't offer a 1 year contract. No big deal though. check it:

-Buy TB for $249.99
-Enroll in buy back program
-option 1-Trade phone in @ 6 months and get $314. towards next phone.
-option 2-Trade phone in @ 12 months and get $251. towards next phone.

-Buy next phone @ retail and only have to come up with ~$250.

This way I can upgrade in only 6 months and not have to shell out too much.
Whatcha think?
