I was going to do that also but the cs rep on the phone says im only paying $29.99 for mobile hotspot and unlimited data so i decided to leave it on

Another poster said he deleted hotspot via immediately after activating that it left unlimited data on his account. I'd rather learn sooner rather than later if it's going to leave me unlimited, as (1) i'm not interested in paying $30 for hotspot, and (2) I want to be able to get my 4gb back sooner rather than later if they remove my unlimited. So we'll see.

Plus I have screen shots of verizon saying I can remove hotspot without removing unlimited data. Indeed screen shots of them telling me I had done just that!

PLUS some posters here had cs reps tell them they'd keep unlimited after canceling the hotspot.

But yes I am curious to see how this plays out on my Bill

Just to clarify:

There seems to be some confusion from some of the questions coming back to this thread. The unlimited data and the 4g hotspot are two different items each with their own cost.

Unlimited data: $29.99

4g Unlimited Hotspot: $30.00

TOTAL COST: $59.99

Both times i've called, all I say is...."I want to add the 4G Mobile Hotspot" and both times they try to set me up with the 6Gig w/mobile hotspot thing. I can't figure out what i'm doing wrong. Is it just completely a matter of luck? Why can some agents so quickly just do it and others instantly resort to the 6Gig thing?

Took me four tries. Yes it's luck which CS rep you get and how they read their screen of options. Keep trying. It's def. worth it.

Thenk you for this info

I just had it added to my account also. When I was asked if if I wanted to add to my 4 gig account for $20.00/month I said it was the $30 per month package for the 4G phone that I was looking for. It took a few seconds and he said "ok I found it." then said " It looks like the system automatically is giving you unlimited data as well. I guess you get an early Christmas present.

Thank you very much...........

and thanks to the OP and all the posts that encouraged me to try. I'm even going to keep it for a month :)

Dlan..

what the heck? It's so frustrating because I told the last girl the same thing. I told her it was a seperate thing AFTER she was trying to make it just the 6Gig plan. I said......"No it's a seperate feature you can add for 30.00 a month." And she said some line about that only being possible with a specific qualified data plan.

When I got it to work on the first try, I did so by telling the nice woman (after I was super nice to her) this: "Yes, I was trying to add the 4G mobile hotspot add-on that was listed under the 'change features' tab when logged into MyVerizon online. But it told me that I had to call a CS rep." That probably gave her an indication of where to look for the add-on. So I would try that if I were you.

It's frustrating that my verizon data widget has not converted from 4G to Unlimited, even though I'm listed as "Unlimited email and web for smartphone" in my online account.

Upon plugging my bionic into my computer, the phone rebooted (annoying!). But upon rebooting, my data widget now reads "unlimited." Awesome.
