[KERNEL] Kernel (deprimed_test) - Break It If You Can

I've noticed for me on demand gives much better battery life than bumblebee, seemed to have noticed a slight drop in battery with latest kernel but nothing to be concerned about. Speaking of battery & android os, my phone running pe5.0.2 am only seeing anywhere from 3% to 10 or 11% of battery use. Your kernel is working great for me, best one I've used. And wishing you the best in your job hunt.

You're only seeing 3-11% of battery usage in a day???? Do you never use your phone? I'm lucky to be at 30% left after a normal day. Heavy use days(more than an hour of solid surfing) I'll be down to near dead or need a charging.

Just put a clean cm 7.0.2 install on, no compcache or overclocking and will see what life i get there for a few days. Then I'll give the prime kernel a comparison run again.

No, let me clarify, talking about android os usage of battery percent. Some posters have been saying android os taking upwards to 30-40% of battery, on my phone it is only using 10% of battery, my screen takes up most of battery 40+%. But I can get about a full day on battery with moderate use, on my phone alot, web, text, game here and there, E-mail.

Ahhh, ok that makes more sense. Yeah, I was seeing 25-55% Android OS usage for whatever reason. When the Android OS usage outdoes the display, something is not quite right.

Minimal use here the last couple days with 88hrs and 42mins of uptime. Battery has 30% left. Android OS and Wi-Fi only used 2% here. LauncherPro used 8%. No CompCache used and have BumbleBee selected. Feels very snappy with no lag. I'm thinking BFS is a great feature! This is running Project Elite 4.2 with a max CPU of 900Mhz.

Just a quick question, how long did you have your screen on because I haven't reached anything close to that time!

Display only shows 7%. I may have averaged four 10min calls in the last 3 days and done about 20-30 texts. Hardly any surfing but do have KMail running in the background with auto-sync. This is the least I've ever used the phone to be honest but still pretty impressive to me. Phone idle time is about 38% :)

Using stock voltage correct?

That's impressive. I just be a heavy user because I usually get 10 to 16 on a charge which I still think is pretty good. Much better than with froyo.

I like it... running this on my D1 MIUI 4.29 Rom and getting decent quadrant scores...

Yes, sorry I forgot to mention that earlier. Is there a way to check the voltage in a root terminal?

20% battery left right now. 87% of the time the kernel has been using 250Mhz slot. 6% @ 900Mhz and about 4% at 550Mhz. BTW- This battery is only about 2 months old and I 'calibrated' it immediately after installing this kernel. Uptime now is 96hrs 52mins. Anxious to see what it does next week when I get back to moderate/heavy use. Impressive work. Thank you!

Edit- This is running on Test 19. I'll try Test 20 soon as the battery drains.

Can you explain this a little bit more thoroughly??

Link2SD Users: This is a link2sd pre-installation script, it will remove /etc/init.d/05mountsd (mounts to /sd-ext) and replace it with a modified version that mounts (and scans if an issue is detected) the second (ext2/3/4) based SD Card partition using the ext4 driver.

I've installed your kernel, had an ext3 partition as the second partition on the sdcard. I then installed link2sd and actually moved some apps to the sdcard.

I know want to upgrade the CM nightly. I will need to wipe /system, reinstall the ROM, gapps, and then how to restore my link2sd links if /data is kept intact? When to I run this script -- before or after the above process?

Thanks.

First let me warn you, if you wipe with Clockwork Recovery it will also wipe out your second partition (the one containing the applications) so do an advanced wipe of /system and /cache then flash the updated ROM and gapps then deprimed and finally the link2sd preinstallation. If after you boot up your applications do not show reboot again, if they still don't show let me know and I will try to help.

If you didn't run the primed or overclock command as su your running stock voltages. To check do this:

Code:
su
modprobe overclock
msocv
cat /proc/overclock/mpu_opps
rmmod overclock
