[KERNEL] Kernel (deprimed_test) - Break It If You Can

Anyone running Test 20 on ProjectElite 4.2? 19 is running like a dream but no matter what I try Test 20 wont get past the boot animation.

Sorry, "bug" was probably not the right term. I had been using Pete's Gingerbread Roms for quite a while, but a persistent "symptom" that kept happening was that if you phone is set to vibrate and you answer a call, sometimes it picks up but keeps on vibrating until you pull the battery. I'd heard it happening with some other Gingerbread roms, but i haven't had it happen with CM7 since I loaded it on my Droid the day it came out. I flashed your kernal this morning and the first call I took, it happened. I don't think anyone over there has figured out why it's happening other than the OG Droid not really liking GB roms.

@Primed BFS has increased my battery life a bunch. 2x or more! With heavy usage I'm getting at least 10 hours. That's with screen on for about 4 hours I believe. That's way more than what I was getting before! :icon_ banana: This is awesome! Keep up the great work.

Next I gotta figure out how to lower the voltage so I can get even better battery life! :)

Strange because bfs seemed to hurt mine. What is everyone elses experience?

From reading various reviews of other BFS and CFS kernels it sounds like its a very much per user/device thing. All depends on usage patterns. I would imagine the ROM, usage level, overclocking, undervolting would all determine which is better. CFS definitely seems better on my battery, but a bit less responsive. Worthy trade off for me though.

I can verify that some sort of incompatibility exists between Test 20 and Project Elite 4.2 now. Complete wipe twice, installed PE 4.2 ROM and booted, then rebooted and installed Test 20. After reboot I get the boot animation and finally an FC pops up for process system. I went back to Test 19 and running perfect! Really loving this kernel...

Anybody else on Winner's build 60 having issues with autobrightness using this kernel? I think it has to do with the change to 2.3.4. I've noticed that issues with the sensor not registering changes are usually kernel related.

I did not have any issues on Winner's 7.0.1 final.......I suppose I could try reflashing the kernel but wanted to hear from others first.

I hardly ever use camera on my phone, but when went to use it would close when pushing shutter button, tried fixing permissions to no avail, ended up flashing back to #9 & camera working. Not sure at this point if kernel issue, going to try re-flashing lastest & see what happens, Anyone else having camera issues with latest?

Your device seems to like the stock voltages, lowering could decrease battery life.

Your welcome.

When you have an issue please post the ROM version.

I'm on #60 official nightly #20 deprimed and camera works properly.

Try going to settings -> applications -> manage applications... find camera and clear data.

It is something to do with the android system process and is directly related to BFS. I suggest running #19 (deprimed_previous link - kernel reports #9) that you are currently using until I can look into the issue.

When I merged BFS there was also a ReiserFS4 patchset I merged, that may be a factor.

Running your kernel on pe5.0.2, haven't yet reflashed #20, remaining on #19 with no issues

I wiped cache and dalvik cache, and I have Deprimed test #20 running on Project Elite 4.2 now. It seems to be hit or miss as I've gotten the system pop-up too. If you try it a few times, it will work. It did for me at least.
