[KERNEL] Kernel (deprimed_test) - Break It If You Can

I have a Droid X. Will I be able to update this kernal if I am on a Froyo based rom? My kernel now is 2.6.32.9-g55626e1. my build number is cyanogen_shadow-eng.2.3.7 GINGERBREADeng.buildbot.20111112.070319 test-keys. Thanks in advance!

No you can't have custom kernels on the Droid x because the bootloader is locked.

Since I flashed the latest kernel my keyboard and front buttons no longer light up. I'm on CM7 252 , I know this has been an issue in the past too.

I have issues when waking from lock while using the on-demand governor, unless I raise the minimum clock speed. Testing other governors now.

No issues like that here, thankfully.

Backlighting and torch function have been an issue on D1 with the last month's worth of CM nightlies. I'm hoping the next winner00 build will fix it.

Ah, I was on hiatus with MIUI for a little while, but we had a falling out and I'm back in the familiar embrace of CM.

The backlighting has been fixed for the 253 nightly. Not the torch though :sad-b:

so how is the new kernel working for everyone according to primes request (angry birds, ect on the previous page?) I assume also that to ulv and get it to 250-900 you still go into terminal and type su enter primed enter? Im back on build 85 or something and its uber stable I havent felt the need to mess with the nightlies that have issues since nobody is maintaining the d1

Well that's something at least. I'll wait for 254- should have some other additions by the looks of it.

I am not finding any problems with the DePrimed update. My phone is working as well as it was before. Sorry I don't do any stringent scientific benchmarking.

You can run overclock for temporary ULV or primed to run ULV permanently.

My testing shows performance to be about the same, battery life seems ok but I have a new battery that is still in programming stage. Some lag coming out of sleep while using bumblebee, need to adjust ramping behavior in next release.

Boot up time has decreased, everything seems smooth overall. I'm on a September build so no torch/led issues.

Btw prime the only issues I usually have with your kernels is setting up the settings, I can never get the overclock settings setup to work on my phone so can ya help out with a quick setup? Basically what would your default ulv vsels be if you overclocked to 1.25 GHz instead of 900MHz?

Run primed in a su terminal, then edit the 900000/60 'echo' lines in /etc/init.d/20overclock to read as this:

echo "80" > /proc/overclock/max_vsel
echo "1250000" > /proc/overclock/max_rate

I don't condone this as a vsel of 80 can be damaging but it is fast, here is an RL Benchmark from 1250mhz
