Kickstand peeling

Mines fine so far bit for such a high end device that seems really cheap.

Could be worse, that ugly ass "gold" plating that was on my original Droid peeled off leaving white plastic behind

Yeah, I noticed mine within a week of getting it. Its slowly chipping away, but its no big deal as it seems to be some kind of protective layer. Protecting what, I have no clue, as it doesn't have seem to be discolored at all once it has chipped away. Almost seems pointless to have it on there. Eventually I'll probably go and chip it away on my own.

Same here. I was also thinking of drilling 2 or 3 small holes in the kickstand on the right hand side that is directly over the speaker, so that media sounds better when the kickstand is closed.

thats a good idea. if you go through with it let me know how it works out hah. i might do it, since my kick stand already looks ugly from the peeling i dont care if i mess it up more

mine too

I should have never read this thread. I would have never noticed mine doing the same thing, but now that I read this i'm noticing it more often. :icon_evil: haha oh well

I say send a report via 611 and email to Vzw of this issue. Now this is not for the purpose of a new phone. This is to document the issue so if you ever need to exchange your device they don't try to charge you claiming neglect.

This is a good idea. Everyone should do it.

this was sent from my phone that is cellular

Yep, mine is peeling as well...started very quickly too maybe after the first week of owning the TB. I'll probably do as others and peel it off myself.

Well my kickstand is peeling and it does not close all the way....it is no longer flush with the back of the phone and I can't figure out why.

I bought mine slightly used, and it was peeling on the very end (this was literally the ONLY defect with the phone). It kind of annoyed me, so I used two different kinds of fine sandpaper to buff it off, and then polished the metal. It did wind up taking the Google lettering off, but I didn't really care about that. It looks better now that it's one uniform color.

I actually really would prefer to just remove the kickstand, but I can't quite figure out how to get it out of there, nor can I figure out where it really comes out of and how to get at it.

to remove it you need to open up the phone thus voiding your warranty if you didnt already
