Good morning and TGIF. My dog and I both had our yearly physicals yesterday and neither one turned out good. Vet found a tumor deep under a muscle in Bonnies hind leg, too deep to biopsy so we'll just watch it for a while. I've had Kidney disease for a long time from taking too many Dr. prescribed
nsaids for my arthritis. Yesterday Dr, put a number to it, stage 4. Not having symptoms yet but I'm ready for whatever happens.
I'm sorry to hear it my friend send my prayers for both of you.. hopefully best results... Take care of the dog best you can and hopefully for yourself minimal side effects

@bkdodger I'm sorry to hear your news. Prayers and hugs for both of you as you go forward. Hugs and treats for you and Bonnie. My dog Logan is dealing with severe heart disease, so I know how a serious diagnosis makes you feel. That being said, you're in an area with many great medical facilities, some specializing in kidney treatment. Please treat yourself to a second opinion if you think it's a good idea. Since I worked in a hospital in NYC, pre-1984, so many years ago, there are many new treatments and meds available. Maybe there is one for you that can slow the progression of your kidney disease. Make sure that second opinion is outside the practice of the original group of your specialist so you can get a fresh set of eyes on your chart. You'll be surprised at what you may find that is new in the subject of kidney treatment. Be well and let me know how you're doing. I'm going to a Nephrologist but I've had Chronic Kidney Disease for 30 plus years. Gave me 1000 Mg of Naprosyn twice a day for 15-18 years and that's when started it all down hill.

A doctor told my Mom she could take 3 ibuprofen 4 times a day(unbeknownst to me) and it boosted her BP high enough to give her an almost fatal heart attack. She survived that and lived 14 more years till 87 but nsaids aren't benign and the BP rise may be what hurt your kidneys.
