I have one like that and I'm not sure he will ever change... He's 2 he's a small dog, and he has taken over the alpha role from my 9 year old.. Also small. Same breed. The older one Jackson, is so patient coping with Logan, the younger, but sometimes he doesn't want to play any more and Jackson shows his teeth and makes an ugly face but won't be aggressive. Logan doesn't take no for an answer.. And he jumps all over Jackson trying to convince him to play. Then we separate them. And Jackson has a little peace..I think we waited too long to get the second one... But for the most part they get along.. A shepherd- rotty mix is a wonderful combo.. Lots of play and lots of action... But they're both alpha type breeds... You've got your work cut out for you... Good luck... I've always thought that Cesar Milan(dog whisperer) does a good job with the alpha types... But everyone in the house has to do exactly the same thing... Dogs are smart especially alpha types, and they'll divide and conquer the adults if you don't stick together... Good luck.. Remember a tired dog is a good dog... Lots of exercise and they're more manageable..I grew up with rotty - lab mixes and it's a similar story...
